hi, so forgive me if its in the wrong section but I have bought a fair number of juices from various places and whilst individually I like some of the flavours other I don't so I have been experimenting with mixing various ones together in the tank of my kit (liquipal squared) I know many people already suggested other kits I might like to try and doubtless I will move on but I am curious do other people mix in this way and are there any golden rules or flavours not to mix ?
mostly I'm using tobacco flavours with fruit flavours in roughly equal quantities and I am waiting on some empty bottles from fasttech (they seem to be taking forever to arrive) so I can premix before I want to start using them, and I think I have the two flavours I like the best as tobacco (currently british and ry4 both from onepoundliquids) but I'm using a variety of different fruit ones and I found the 100%vg flavours are to slow to wick making them rather useless in my current kit (so i'm saving them for later when I upgrade to something that can take them)
anyhow aside from rubber gloves and cleanup is there anything I shouldn't do in regards to mixing like this ?

This is how I got into DIY mixing in the first place nanotm, by tweaking the ready made eliquid that wasn't quite to my liking . . . . having some success, that gave me the confidence to go further and start from scratch. Don't blend vast amounts together would be my advice, until you're certain you've got the flavour to your liking - you'll need to be disciplined and make a note of the quantities you add together, to be able to replicate it. There's this Flavour Pairing website that you may find helpful: nouveauraw.com/raw-recipe-templates-and-development/flavor-prfiles-that-pair-well-in-recipes/

I don't think there are any rules, just down to your sense of taste. I've had a few strange flavours when I've topped up a tank with a new juice, the transition period can be interesting. A purist would say that I should clean the tank and wick before changing, but I quite enjoy the adventure of never to be repeated flavours.
Not sure I would bother with gloves if you're just mixing juice. Strong nicotine base is another matter though, I don't, but many people would suggest that you use gloves for 72mg & upwards nic base.
Hope that helps

well tbh the gloves are just because I have a box of out of date nitrile and the wife gives me funny looks, also the tank glass tends to move and so you get some leakage during filling and it leaves your hands smelling nasty for a while / I have found a couple of flavours I really like atm one is vanilla custard and the other is double mint (both have a clean tank with fresh coil/wick assembly) and I am liking the mix of ry4 with cherry or british tobacco with cherry and happily all of them are from pound liquids so I can vape as much as I like with them I tend to refill the mixed tank of an evening so it can sit overnight ready to use in the morning, I tried with pineapple and some other flavours but they tend ot leave a strange aftertaste, in the mix tank though I don't bother cleaning it although after 3 weeks I might be due a new coil&wick assembly (its an all in one thing) I have noticed its starting to take longer to get up to temp, in some ways I wish this stick had some settings I could play with but then again its so simple and it just works that until one breaks about the only thing I might change is the battery, it comes with 1000mah 3.75v stick units and after reading some of the comments on here I am thinking they don't hold charge very well, problem is I have no idea what rating the coils are and despite asking the company for the wattage rating of the units they just told me what its mah/voltage were so probably a communication problem of English to some other language I like the look of some of the kit out there and something slightly shorter would be beneficial but I can figure out if I get say a 1300mah vv unit and set it to 3.75v will it work the same only for longer or will it burn out the coils, I have a few spare coils but I really cant afford to waste kit atm, in the last few months I've saved about £90 after taking into account the cost of the kit I bought and the liquids but it will be some months yet before I can actually start experimenting with other kit /

Have you looked at the iStick range? Great value for money, plus neat devices.

yeah just got to work out where to get one from if I get an eleaf istick50w how long will it last, I think it looks like something that would be likely to se me through several stages should I go down them but not really sure how long the unit will last or if I should be getting more than one so I can use one whilst it charging etc

China will probably be a good place to look if you can hack the wait for an iStick 50w: www.fasttech.com/search?istick%2050w

Whatever device you decide to move up to, I'd suggest you change it over to wattage settings instead of voltage. Once you find a wattage that suits you then you will get a consistent vape from any device at that setting; if you adjust the voltage it can vary widely.
Think of it like a lightbulb; you don't use more power to make a room brighter - you get a higher wattage bulb; it's the same with vaping. If you want to dim the light you lower the wattage, not the voltage. I would suggest the Innokin MVP20 watt as a good next step. It holds charge for a good long time, is ruggedly made, and although not suitable for sub-ohming, I don't think that's where you're at. You can even charge it in the car (if you've got a usb) and you can charge your phone off it if you get stuck. It also comes with an eGo adapter so you can use you're current tanks on it.

so I ordered a 30w unit that apparently has the sprung top through amazon and hopefully that should arrive in a day or two, i'll likely order the 50w unit from china after xmass but my budget this month just didn't quite stretch that far and I need something that doesn't require recharging twice a day.
another question,
currently when I vape the taste/clouds are decent when the battery is fully charged but will become sort of burnt tasting as the battery starts to run down is this normal or does it indicate a problem with the kit ?

It's a wicking issue not a battery one if you're experiencing a burnt taste at any point nanotm . . . . if you're finding your eliquid slow to wick, then you can always dilute it with a little distilled water or vodka. The colder temperatures now do make VG heavy blends that much thicker/slower to wick. Which atomiser/tank are you using? What ohms are the coil and the power setting you're pushing through it . . . .

the liquipal squared, kit, I have a couple of them and the exact same thing happens weather I use the high pg juice or the high vg stuff, which makes me wonder if its a peculiarity with that kit, normally what happens is i'll be about half way through a tank in the middle of the day and start getting that taste, i'll swap batteries and it instantly goes away but it doesn't give off that taste when I finish the tank, then it just tends to just start feeling dry and having almost zero vapour which is when I tend to swap the battery again and refill the tank normally with a different flavour.
thing is its been that way for both coils ive used in the pen so far, I was thinking of grabbing a pack of ce4's just to test them and see if they do the same thing, but i'll hold off until the new battery arrives and see if the same thing happens or if I start to experience the same thing everyone else talks about, I cant understand why the battery needs swapping twice in a single day given its supposed to be a 1000mah unit and that's theoretically supposed to last for all 1.6ml of the tank

The Liquipal looks like a Ego Styled kit with 1000mAh batteries. The atomiser appears to take Protank styled heads. It can be seen here www.amazon.co.uk/LiquiPal-Squared-Cigarette-Starter-Kit/dp/B00SHLZ612This is now a bit "old school" with a fixed output. Reading the comments above I would agree with Perpetua that the OP is having wicking issues. You could try some Naturevape microcoils which should improve the vapour production or you could send prr a couple of the defunct coil heads and get him to snd you a couple of microcoiled ones. You will be able to use these atomisers with the iStick with the supplied Ego adapter but if you're having wicking issues on your current device these will not go away with a iStick. You could get a full sized Protank that will work better or get a Subtank and some higher resistance coils (1.2 ohm or 1 .5 ohm) or even use the 0.5 ohm ones and these should be a revelation.

well I just ordered a couple of ce5's from amazon and hopefully they will fix the current issue (if they don't end up being another bad buy) I see what you mean about the wicking issue and your probably right just seems slightly odd that it would happen at the same time as the batteries are low on power,
as to getting a "grown up" atty I am looking at a few different options like the aspire mini and the pro tank mini or the kanger mini but if I'm totally honest I just don't have the budget for something that expensive this side of Christmas looking at the coils I have (I got a bunch of spares when I bought the liquipal kit) they don't say what impedance they have so I have no idea if any of them will be any good for a new tank, although looking at the pictures they seem to be identical to the nautilus coils in terms of size etc, and maybe as you say they can be re wicked with some better cotton, but perhaps the ce5 type option would be better as it will remove the need for a wick, and if it works for me then I can look into upgrading to an RBA version in the future, stupid thing is so far I've spent less in 3 months on vape gear than I spent in 1 month on baccy and I'm hopeful that trend will continue but I cant go down the "ohh that's shiney" route so I dont want to start off with a bunch of different things now and be left in 18 months wondering why I spent a grand or more on kit I never use ....

well I just ordered a couple of ce5's from amazon and hopefully they will fix the current issue (if they don't end up being another bad buy) Are they the type with replaceable or rebuildable coil heads nanotm? I'll add that with any of these top coils you need to keep the wicks well juiced to avoid burnt hits - swooshing the eliquid around inside them is the best way I can describe the action used to achieve that. but perhaps the ce5 type option would be better as it will remove the need for a wick It won't - they still have wicks. but I cant go down the "ohh that's shiney" route so I dont want to start off with a bunch of different things now and be left in 18 months wondering why I spent a grand or more on kit I never use .... You don't have to go down the compulsive buying route, but if you ask for advice we can help you spend your money wisely on not especially expensive equipment that will in turn give you better value for money and greater vaping satisfaction . . . . rather than throwing good money after bad.

indeed you guys /gals have a lot of good advice and info and it leaves a lot of thinking to be done on my side as to what route to go down, with respect to the ce5's they say wickless so I assumed that means there some kind of tank based dripper type unit although reading the blub a bit more it does say absorbed so I don't know maybe they just claim it to be wickless and what they mean is the wick is tiny just like the wick and coil type unit I am using already .....
