Is it true that custard flavoured mixes are better vaped on silica wicks rather than sub ohm coils and cotton?

Personal taste I guess as to what could be considered ' better ' . . . . . for me subohm tanks are fantastic for the fruit/aniseed/cough candy type flavours, just brings the flavours out more somehow - don't mind dessert type mixes in them either. Straight custards I still prefer using silica or the Nautilus. One of those questions that you won't know the answer without experimenting to decide which you prefer smiley76.

not sure, a few of the premium? juice makers recommend mech mods and 1.4-1.8ohm coils to get the best out of their products,
silica wick is something I have been thinking about, would it work with TC? Might it be easier to wrap around??
I've vaped Kreeds in tanks and drippers often as not its down to my personal taste at the time. I have a 0.6ohm clapton in my subtank mini which gives a nice all day cloudy vape without any gunking up, nearly 10 days on the same coil and wick so bit of a record for me. I have a Manabush juice in my goblin mini which I prefer over the nautilus anyway but it will get a new coil and filled with some custard someday soon. I'm also dripping it over single or dual Ni200 coils, claptons, twists, parallel and 30g microcoils and every one has its own taste.

Grant wrote that in the early days of VC madness smiley76 . . . . before using cotton, subohm vaping was a twinkle in anyone's eye. More in response at the time to Genesis atomisers, where the mesh wick really does tend to strip the flavour out of dessert/custard type vapes. * Suddenly feeling incredibly ancient now. *

ive had custard (devilicious and grants) on the go for the last 7 months and its my ADV and only used in my subtank mini. nautilus coils get clogged up way too quick with custard and i find and the taste imo is not as good.
personally its fruits,mints/menthol, sweets in my nautilus and everything else in the subtank mini.
milkman from one hit wonder is quite muted in mini nautilus and in subtank mini as they are quite low wattage. while in uwell crown its amazing flavor but of course this is 80/20 and needs much higher wattage.

Same here. I use the subtank mini for Generals Custard and Wooties when I can afford to splurge a bit. I find a coil (not stock) around 1.2 ohms is much better than a sub-ohm coil for custard, but then my brother prefers the opposite and uses a 0.5 (not stock) coil, so as usual, swings and roundabouts when it comes to preference. In the nautilus, I currently have Snake Oil with a good squirt of Mrs Lords Druide (about a 3 to 1 ratio) and it's fantastic, but in the subtank it quickly becomes a bit too much.
