Mechs, VW/tc

Chatting to a mate the other day and go me thinking what draws you to your mech over a vw or your vw over a mech, I've got a few VW devices but keep going back to my mechs I think it having cool designs or the no nonsense. I don't mind my VW mods but I feel they are very faffy and always worried about it deing on me if I drop it

Haven't used a mechanical mod in years . . . . . all tucked away in my Apocalypse Box.


Love VV/VW devices far too much to want to go back  - unless I was forced to for some extraordinary reason.

Mines all mechs with a couple of unregulated boxes. Love my mechs. Good looking, simple designs, convenient to carry around etc.

With vv/vw I'm always messing around with the settings,where as with a mech life is simple

I try them now and again, but let's be honest they are only as good as the battery and that makes for a drop off in power, also although almost indestructible they are far from faff free, but I am still keeping mine.

IMO VW & TC are easier to use and are largely set it and forget it, as are mech once you have your preferred atty build, but that can take a lot of effort sometimes. I have broken a few VV/VW mods, all cheapies, actually they weren't all cheap just Far East kit like LavaTubes & Evics, but I must have dropped various DNAs several dozen times and not has a single one fail yet.

Mech's only for Me...........at least 'till I go back to Newport (IoW) to retrieve the I-stick & Smowell that I cleverly left in Me Rucksack over there!!!

VW stands for Volkswagen. Oh ! Wait a minute somebody was messing about with the settings in them too, but they done the honourable thing, recalled and fixed them, unlike cloupor !  LOL

I hope not too. But it is a hope that will finally end in failure. Smowell make some quite nice mods, but the electronics in them are third rate at best. And the build quality was not fantastic (they like to use soft metal for the screws). I had two. They lasted about 3 months each with "moderate" use. I even managed not to strip the chocolate threads on the screws. If the improve those areas of the mod, I might consider another purchase. Until then, good luck with yours. I hope it lasts longer than mine did.
