I have recent purchased a USB pass through which I love. At 5V the vaping is so much better IMO than at 3.7 (even with LR or dual coil). I am still a bti of a newbie, now 5 weeks since I bought my first ecig and 4 weeks since I quit the tabacco. I started out with cartridges and ego tanks (I have a tornado b tank and an imist), but I prefer cartomisers or dripping now. I also really don't understand yet about the different types of batteries 18xxx's and 14500's etc, but I not intimidated and it seems an obvious move next for better life and reliability and cost.
I have been obsessively researching and now believe that if I had VV I could find the best effective voltage for me. I cannot decide between four options. Please can you give me your views.
1) Provari. Obviously this seems to be the best reviewed VV mod on the market. If I go for one I will have to save for another month or so. Is it so much better than anything else? I do think it's quite big, not sure how truly portable it is.
2)the new lava tube is very affordable - I could order one next week, and the reviews are pretty good. It seems smaller than the Provari and a great deal cheaper. Is the performance comparable to Provari
3)safer cigs sell the Howitzer which seems excellent vale for money. It's £60 and comes with a big battery, a small battery (with a separate smaller sleeve which makes it dinky), charger and two tankcartomiser thingies. It seems very versatile and great VFM but I havn't been able I find any reviews other than on the sellers website.
4) a bit of a curve ball - I have been reading about bottom feeders, and they also come VV and seem great. They hold more ejuice, and are often beautifully hand crafted. I don't really know if I will like the experience though and they tend to be quite large - a bit different from vaping on an ego in public. They are also quite expensive and Los more research will be needed before I'm ready to buy.
Please help. I just don't know where to go next......

Hi Mickey, the provari is my fav mod... its so well made and just feels really nice to use. the lavatube however is so much cheaper and as its made of aluminium is lighter even tho it is longer in length than the standard provari ....they will be both the same length if you get the extender cap for the 18650 battery.
i've not had experience of the Howitzer or a bottom feeder so cant help you there

I second Gordy . . . the Provari is a fantastic mod if your pocket allows, the LT is a more affordable option though. A belated welcome from me Micky.

I can afford a provari, but even then I'm not sure I want to spend that much on a e-cig. So I've got a LT. It is difficult though, the LT is obviously built to a price, I don't know how long it will last, people have had problems with different bits of them. Atm my end cap (carto end) I can see starting to move and the fire button sometimes doesn't work that well. I think a provari is about £180 with extender cap. A LT is about £34 delivered, so you can get 5 LT's for the same price. From what everyone says, they do the same job and you can use the same batteries on each (with mini LT's and provari extender). Will a provari last out 5 LT's? Only time will tell. I've heard of provari's going wrong and being fixed, but fixing a LT, will probably not be worth it, if anything serious goes. I prefer the lightness of the LT and I like black mods, I'm anti bling, so would have to pay extra for a different provari finish. Finally, the LT is available virtually next day in the UK, if your Provari broke, or got lost, you'd better have a decent back up available. Just putting my thoughts into words

well I got my LT about 30 minutes ago, and so far so good, it's second hand, bought via the classifieds on here... and absolutely no problems with firing, buttons all seem great.
Initial thoughts are that it is incredible, I've only taken it up to 5volts on a standard boge, and it blew my head off, I daren't go any further!! I'm finding somewhere around 4.6-4.7 to be ideal for me at the minute. It offers loads more... well everything... than my riva, more flavour, more vape, and more throat hit. I am very impressed so far. Ed, if you read this, thank you very much... Although I'm going to email you too.
I will do a proper review when I've had more time to get to know it.
A very happy vaper here so far...
Also, and completely off topic, my free tickets for Alton Towers courtesy of the sun dropped through the door this morning... Wooohoooo

Hi Micky I can't afford a Povari and even if I could i don't think I would want to spend all that money on something that I may lose or break. I've had no issues with my LavaTube, i really like it. the Howitzer looks like really good value and versatile, but when I was looking about a month ago I couldn't find any reviews on it. There have been people on here that have had issues with their LTs but i think they are in the minority Let us know what you decide to go for

If I was you micky, I would save the Provari as a possible future treat - I've noticed a few coming up in the classifieds on UKV recently and you might at some point even get a bargain! I've been using my LT since Christmas and never had a problem with it and I think it is an excellent introduction to VV You could also consider the mini LT if you want something smaller. The Howitzer may well be worth considering as an alternative. It is the same as this: www.gotvapes.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=104_152&products_id=688If you want to find out more about it there is a 13 page thread on it here! www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/gotvapes/272822-vision-tox.htmlEdit Just read that thread myself - looks like there have been issues with the Howitzer/ Tox and a new version is on the way that maybe fixes them.

Buy the LavaTube.
I am approaching 2 months of vaping and kinda gone all in.
Have a Mini and normal ProVari's and a Vapage XL bottom feeder that I run at 5 or 6v.
I had the cash through a savings plan that goes by the name of tax rebate over here but if I hadn't would have gone with the LT in a heartbeat.

Thank you for all your messages - really helpful and clear. I have just discovered that Daren at safercigs is getting a mak 2 Howitzer soon that doesn't have the problems that the current model has (I did a bit of research and the mark 1 only goes to 4.2 v!) but I am not as confident with his eshop as I am with any other so I am going o go with the LT a soon as the new one is available from liberty flights!
I will save for the provari and see how I feel in a few months.
Bottom feeders I think will have to come later.
Thanks again
