Thank you again everyone for the recent advice. I hadn't even thought of things like drip tips and so on. While I was looking around for Kangar prices etc, I saw mention of "direct-to-lung" and "mouth-to-lung" vaping and realised that I had no idea what either really meant or the differences...once I read up on the 2 of them and what the techniques were,it appeared that I am a direct to lung vaper as I inhale the vapour directly, much as I did when I was smoking. I also read that higher nicotine levels (above 6 I noted a couple of times) are more likely to irritate the throat of someone doing DTL.
So, earlier today I decided to try MTL a go to see if it made any difference to the sore throat etc and, so far, my throat is not as sore as it was when vaping. I am finding it rather awkward changing my technique but I guess it will become more natural through practice. However, if it continues to be better on my throat, then it will save me going out and buying new hardware and new juices which is a good thing as I do like using the Nautilus. Having said that, I was thinking of trying new flavours again as, while the one I've been using is fine, my mouth frequently has a slightly unpleasant taste in it. Anyway, will see how it goes

Wow..can't believe it's been over a month since I last posted!! Where does the time go?
Just a quick update for anyone interested. Vaping is still going well, will be 10 weeks without a cigarette come tomorrow evening and have not smoked over 1,000 cigs in the process. Money-wise I have saved well over £400 which would be enough to buy the PS4 that I promised myself at the start but that has been shelved for now as I am trying Acupuncture for my long-term back issues and it doesn't come cheap! Still just using the original tobacco flavour that I have since the start as I stocked up with 10 10ml bottles at the end of December and still have 6 of them left..once I get low on supply I may look to other flavours and I may try dropping the Nicotine level in the Juices (currently at 12mg). Still get the occasional sore throat but much better since I changed the technique.
That's it for now..hope everyone is doing well. Will try to not leave it so long before making an appearance next time!

Good luck with the acipu accube acacia needles. Nick

Well done David, you're a great example of someone who is prepared to work through any issues to keep the end game in sight.
Congrats!

That's good to hear @nursemorph as @kopiert said the healthy options you now have will make a real difference to your wellbeing. Keep On Keeping Off (The Fags That Is)

Hello again...3 months since my last update (so much for coming back more often lol) and this will be my final update as soon will be clear. My vaping journey began back in November and ended a couple of weeks ago....however, I have not gone back to smoking but have quit all nicotine altogether (though I have had a couple of mini cigars the last couple of days to help me through an extremely tough few days with pain) Everything was going fine with the vaping until a couple of weeks ago...I had still been having the slight sore throat most of the time and always having a blocked nose/feeling congested almost (was the same with cigs) but, I suddenly started having major anxiety attacks feeling like I couldn't get enough air etc, caused due to other factors in my life. I'd already massively cut back on the vaping a few days prior (was down to the equivalent of 2/3-1 cigarette a day) and decided to completely stop the vaping to see if it helped. After a few days, all the anxiety stuff settled (was mainly constant uncontrollable shaking all day long and only relieved if I could sleep which was difficult as laying down made it worse!) and, since then, I haven't felt the need for any nicotine (asides from a couple of minor cravings) until the last day or two due to being off my strongest painkiller and massive flare-up of my back problem. So, in a few days, when I stop the mini cigars again (will just have a couple a day for a few days until my pain etc settles and then stop again as I can't get to the shops to buy more even if I wanted to!), I will go back to being nicotine free as I am not going to let these few days stop me giving up...asides from my sense of taste being massively improved since quitting the vaping, my breathing is now starting to get a bit better and, of course, I can't afford to go back to smoking anyway. So, as I said at the beginning of the post, my vaping journey is at an end...however, despite it only being 5 months long, it has been 100% successful as I have managed to go from 14-17 cigarettes a day to zero after 21 years of smoking full-time. A big thank you to everyone who has helped and supported me through this brief journey and I wish everyone good luck in their quest to become cigarette and nicotine free....if you really want to quit, then you can quit...after all, if I can quit despite being under constant stress from a chronic back problem which has left me unable to work for 5 years and having to lay down for 18-20 hours a day as well as the extra stress of financial constraints and having no light at the end of the tunnel in relation to my back problem, then anyone can!

You have done brilliantly knocking smoking and now vaping on the head, but just watch those mini cigars @nursemorph, they can be deceiving little rotters. I switched to them a few years back having "just the odd one", but ended up smoking about 10 of them a day. I'd somehow managed to convince myself it wasn't the same as smoking cigs and the penny only finally dropped one day in Tesco when I found myself buying 6 packets of them (5's) to "last me over the weekend".
Apart from a couple of cigars it sounds like you have made great progress, so very well done mate. I wish you a full and speedy recovery with your back problems and all the very best to you in the future!

This time I deliberately chose the mini cigars instead of cigarettes as I don't get addicted to them like cigs..as it is, I bought a pack of 10 which will run out today and then I'll be stopped again as, apart from being determined to continue quitting, I can't easily get to the shop to buy more (due to my back issues, I can't walk very far and certainly not to the shop to buy some and a taxi would cost me the same amount as a pack of 10 minis each way...effectively meaning a 10 pack of mini cigars would cost me over £15 !! I'm not that desperate lol)
