Hi guys, got myself a couple of bottles of the re branded. rhubarb, and a sour cherry. I mixed it 5ml of each with no nic just for testers. gave them a really good shake in the space of a couple of hours. then decided to give them a try. YUK both flavours had a horrible plastic perfume taste , all of my other fruit mixes from other brands are almost good to go from the off but do improve with a couple of days steeping. Anyway i thought i would be brave and give them another try this morning. They still taste the same a vile plastic chemical taste . So do the chefs vapour brand fruits need a lot longer to steep than other brands? i know a lot of people say they are very good , so im not sure whats going on. Both mixed 10%, thanks for any advice.

I use sour cherry in a couple of my recipes and have never noticed any unusual tastes, I haven't tried the rhubarb, but I'm concerned that BOTH have the taste!! are you sure that it isn't your VG or PG?

Thanks for the reply, both my VG ,PG, are fine as i also mixed a couple more fruits at the same time, and they taste as they always do. have you tried the sour cherry on its own ? I am hoping someone will tell me their fruits need a good steep and the plastic perfume chemical taste will go. It really cant believe they are meant to taste the way they do as a lot of people seem to use them. I have a friend coming over later and i will see what he thinks about the taste.

I'd let the juices breathe with the tops off somewhere - preferably at or slightly above room temperature - for 12-24 hours. This should let the aromatic perfume evaporate leaving you with tasty juice.

Left the tops off for a few days, and the cherry tastes a bit smother but not much. The rhubarb is still very chemical and perfumey YUK. i think its for the bin. very disappointed in both. oh well live and learn.

puffer2 - DON'T bin it yet! In that situation, I would be tempted to put it somewhere cool and leave it for a week. Sometimes the synthesised flavours need a good few days to lose the chemical taste and start developing. This steeping malarkey (homogenisation is a more correct word!) needs only one thing - time

I'll echo chykensa - don't! Give it a couple of weeks before making a final decision . . . . 10% is a reasonably high percentage for some of the Re-Branded concentrates, so you may also find that diluting the mixes down could help puffer2.

OK i will hang on to them, i mixed the rhubarb at about 4% and steeped it for a couple of days with the top off,the 10% ones have been about 5 days, i cant seem to get rid of the yuky chemical taste, i gave my mate a go, his face was a picture lol. At least its not just me. Cant understand why nobody else on the forum has noticed the taste as to me it is unvapable. Thanks for the advice guys ,i will try it again in a few days, not looking forward to that.

I have used the Rebranded Rhubarb at 2-3% as an added note to some of my fruity vapes, but never tempted to make it a big player in any flavor mix; did think about trying a Rhubarb & Custard, but the custard was so overpowering I never got it just so. At these small percentages was quite happy with the flavor profile and not aware of any perfumey plastic taste.

I buy the sour cherry & sour raspberry in 100ml bottles they are so good, I would suggest if you continue to have problems you should contact chefs and see if they have any suggestions.

Hubby fancied trying it but not sure where to start many thanks Try mixing it at 5% as a single flavour, i would like to know what you think, just mix a little 5ml bottle to start.
