Not that much use for e-Cigs with only a 15 A continuous, I know the pules is 30 secs but the risk of a faulty device may be small, but the bang from 15 Ah ICR would be at least 5 times worse than anything we have seen from and eCig so far. I also reckon that a lot of it power will not be very usable as it's min voltage is 2 V so there will be a chunk of it at only 30 W, the nominal would be 55 W & peak 63 W I can't say exactly how much of the power would be below 40 W but I could easily be 30%.

Not much detail, yours says INR, so maybe both are safer than I posted, but they seem to be the same series so your smaller one will have even lower output current.

I notice for the battery this thread is about the nominal voltage is only 3.2 - 3.3 V (48-49.5 W) so even lower powered than I speculated on above.

I don't think big single cells will be they way to go as they require, more expensive and less efficient buck-boost circuits, 3 or 4 cell packs can run ,ore efficient buck only boards.  But I would always rather have a lighter mod and carry spares, but we are all different and some people want ther mod to last days and days.

Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) cells are much safer than LiCo or LiMn cells. There are videos around of LiFePO4 battery packs being shot up - and LiMn ones. AFAIK nobody has had LiFePO4 cells kaboom or even vent with flame.

They fail benignly. They have a lower terminal voltage - fully charged at 3.6V. And hold less energy than a same size LiMn (IMR) grenade would.

Quite a few military use packs use phosphate cells.

Sad thing is that the best manufacturer of the things A123 systems went bust a couple of years ago.

Yes, I saw that, it was meant as an information post with a bit of fun thrown in, I dont think anyone was really taking it seriously, especially at £26 each But hopefully it points to better batteries in the future
