Need some serious help from computer experts.

Still nothing peeps. Get the gigabyte boot screen for the mother board but no f keys work to get me into any menus and then just switches itself off and then restarts again. Thisnis with a ss2 keyboard attatched.

I am running out of ideas here. I dont have a windows disk or anything as my bro installed it all.

Hard drives? And then do what nanotm?

With hard drives unpkugged the pc stays on but get black screen with arrow. Does that mean it is a bad hard drive or i need to re install windows 7 which is hard as i do not have it.

with no drives attached boot up and report if thebios display remains stable without switching itself off..

drives Plural?? turn off Plug back in the boot drive and keep fingers crossed and reboot.

Power on this pc and keep hitting the delete button (Del) on the key board. With a Gigabyte mainboard this should get you into the bios settings. Id this works reply and i'll work out the next step.

also depending on the bios, you may be able to overcome the lack of Function buttons by using the tab key to switch focus to options? try ctrl+tab or alt+tab to switch between function screens or menu items..

next thing to look for is a bootable cd/dvd image like a *nix system you can use for h/w diagnostics, to run from a cd/dvd drive


the tools im (was) familiar with are over a decade+ behind the times, google turned up a few solutions

plug just the hard drive with the operating system on back into the pc and see if you get the boot loop again.


if it works fine and boots to windows then one of the other drives is a problem

With either drive plugged in it is the same. Get the gigabyte motherboard screen then black screen with white arrow.

This does not work. :confused:

unplug your ir keyboard and plug the ps2 one in,

hit the power button on the front and keep hitting the Del key until it beeps or the bios screen shows up

Doing the first option i get a screen come up that says del to cancel or f2 to go to setup but f2 doesnt work and screen only there for a split second and then back to black screen with arrow.

That is the keyboard i am using and doesnt work.

Gna give up soon as need to eat. Any last minute ideas here peeps? I might be taking it to the computer shop tomoz and get them to sort it.
