@johanino ... thoughts are with you all from Cumbria northwards... shocking scenes. OliverB ... snap, just been up the avenue to rescue it, although I can't find the green garden one... apart from high winds I can't believe we've had no real rain here in Cheshire, we're just a gap between North Wales & Cumbria. To all affected, just stay safe.

Been poring down all day and blowing a gale up here. We are okay as we live on a hill, but many others not so luck. We are just outside Kendal and getting in or out is neigh on impossible now. MIL lives in ambleside and they are cut off too. I think I'll start to build the ark next week.

yeah its been blowing quite a gale where I am as well but fortunately not the rain with it thus far, it takes me back a few years seeing all the devastation up north on the news, we would see flash floods that hung around for weeks or months regularly when I was growing up which was part of the reason for owning a bunch of kayaks and a small motor launch as well as waders and a tractor despite not being within 5 miles of a mapped watercourse....., strikes me the more they build flood defences the worse the flooding gets .....
hope nobody ends up washed out but I dare say some will /

Flooding, nothing, last night I had to go outside and move a watering can, the noise of it blowing around the patio was keeping her who must be obeyed awake lol

I'm barely affected One night's pants sleep due to the wind. No flooding (we delegate that to a wee town called stonehaven) and am nice and warm and dry on the east coast the forth road bridge closure - argh yes! I know what that means - standing on trains anywhere from Dundee to Newcastle

To anybody suffering after the storms, you have my heartfelt sympathy. It is rotten at any time of year, but with the lead up to Xmas... As per Jane's title, when you get back online, you'll know we are thinking of you. To those too close for comfort, but, ATM OK... that you remain that way. Stay safe all.

No damage at all really. Only the paths are actually under about 2 inches of water.
That was why I built everything as Raised Beds. The garden and surrounds would have to be under about 3 feet of water before it damaged anything.
