Hi,
I'm here again - asking questions. One day I might be as knowledgeable as the "regs"!!
1) What are the pros and cons of PG and VG, not only the performance but also regarding ones health?
2) Are there any "recipes" anywhere for mixing ones own juice?
Many thanks, Liz

I think it's personal preference and what you can get on with. When I started with PG in January, I ended up with a sore mouth and went on to VG, which gave me an upset stomach!! Soooo, I used Cordysol mouth wash for a couple of weeks and went back to PG. I can notice now if the supplier puts too much VG in the liquid I buy and can't use it. I don't make my own juices.

I don't think there's any difference healthwise between the two - eg, PG is used in inhalers, so its chemical sounding name and talk of anti-freeze shouldn't frighten anyone. PG was the original base for juices but VG gives more and thicker vapour - however, you lose some throat hit and most of us need that sensation when we start vaping. VG may also have a sweeter taste than PG. There is also PEG which I believe has more the consistency of PG but maybe slightly less sweetness. It's horses for courses - some people have a physical reaction to one or the other, most people can vape any without problems. As for mixing your own, it's just trial and error. Lots of sellers do flavourings; TW and TECC, among others, sell PG, VG and PEG on their own; VG can be bought from chemists or supermarket bakery shelves. Just a vague guide scylla

ref mixing your own, i really cant see the point, unless you are trying to create a flavour thats not available. i had some bad issues with VG and tried to modify that using flavours more PG and nicotine.........it didnt work out. so it will initially cost a fair bit to get the flavour you want, only to find someone sells it anyway. trying to mix tiny amounts really IMO dont work, there is no room for error, so you need to mix a 10ml amount minimum IMO even then .25ml to much of this or that will be totally different. i think making your own will be more of a hobby rather than your regular vape. you would need very accurate syringes otherwise your measure will be all over the place. raggy............

Raggy makes sense. My adventures in mixing never go further than mixing dregs together or doing a bit of diluting scylla

Yeah I wouldn't bother trying to mix your own, I rekon it'll be more trouble than it's worth with so many flavours out there already, why trouble yourself.
I personally prefer vg. Not sure why, maybe it's psychosomatic lol. I do have bottles of both types, but always sway towards James' vg based juices.

I agree with hissie on not mixing your own - I've never been bothered to even try. However I much prefer PG (or mainly PG) liquid to VG (or mainly VG) liquid. I find VG liquids more cloying...

I also agree, so many good flavoured reasonably priced juices available ready made.
