Wow. I can't think of a better written piece for a long time. Almost every last darn word is near perfect. Somebody has done a great job. My favourite line. Now, this tries to bag some credit for S S services, but in essence they are saying e-cigs really do work. Nice.

So we now have something (e-cigs) that even in their currently 'unregulated' form are being recommended by the NHS But which in a more regulated form it will not even be legal to advertise (in most media) in six months time.
I would like to hear the government's position on that contradiction and on who they trust most the EU or the NHS?

I would like to hear the government's position on that contradiction and on who they trust most the EU or the NHS? Yes, and isn't it ironic. 1,2,3 years ago people were saying "there is no evidence to say they work"... now there is evidence and the NHS is prepared to accept they are safer, but... tick, tock... the clock is ticking. I doubt a single person in the government will lose any sleep over this conundrum. Sad. Regrettable to say the least.

In the future it will be claimed that the NHS only recommends e-cigs because they have been regulated. So lets not forget this magic moment when they recommended commercial 'unregulated' e-cigs.

I remember this, and the study it refers to. This is exactly the sort of info that needs to be put out there

I see one thing - prescriptionMy brain yells another - TAX!!!! Yep as per this quote: Although I admit that the article is great in that it is supporting the use of e-cigs which is what we have wanted to see put in print by health officials I do feel the same as @johanino that they are just gearing up for their own ends as e-cigs gain the right to be prescribed by the NHS. Shame on them for all the negativity in the past and only now giving support when it suits their agenda. Mixed feelings here from me

Mixed feelings here from me they will need their coproducers in crime to get their collective fingers out a their jacksies then and actually start making the damn products they just issued the licence for, currently its listed as awaiting production, apparently there is some problem with quality control and battery safety to overcome in the crappy regulator chip they used ..... from reading another source it would appear that a different device would suit both the needs and the aims of the directive but not be quite as simple to operate that a toddler could figure it out in a few hours....

I hadn't heard about that - typical

Was my GP's line for years - ' you be vaping - you'll go back to the stinkies soon enough' - simple response needed - smile sweetly and change the subject :-) and I've not had a stinky about a year and before then it was about one every 4-6 weeks for 3 years and more when really mentally froot loop (as per lung doctor - smoking stinkies when mentally unwell for you J is bar far the lesser of evils and I know with the e-cig as soon as you are mentally better you'll be off the stinkies )
