Hi I have been using Boots vg in my mixes. I mix at 6mg nic but my mixes have a sharp edge and just wondering if it is the Boots vg, anyone else come across this?

I doubt it tsoko . . . . Boots VG is all I've ever used in 5+years of mixing, never have I had a sharpness or read of it. Quite the opposite, it seems to be sweet and fluffy for some. Which I don't get either - but then taste is a personal thing. If you use added PG, whose is it?

Hi Perpetua I am using pg and nic (72mg) from everythingliquid Cheers Tsoko I've used neither tsoko . . . . so can't speak from personal experience. But if you are experiencing a harshness in your mixes, then you've to break it down as to the cause . . . . excluding for a moment your PG & Nic Base as I've seen no adverse reports on Everythingliquids products, nor Boots VG. The first two areas I would look at, are your flavouring ratio's . . . . and have you given your mixes sufficient time to steep? Looking at the possibility, that your taste buds could be more ' tuned ' than others of us are - have you tried some Smooth or Vape Wizard? www.chefsvapour.co.uk/perfumers-apprentice/1952-smooth.htmlwww.chefsvapour.co.uk/flavourart-concentrates/2086-mts-vape-wizard.html

I also have used boots vg with no problems, i would suspect the nic base before the vg afaik it can deteriorate over time faster than other ingredients, and you have no idea the length of time it sat on the suppliers shelves

You have recommended the smooth to me before so I reckon I will have to get some. I have just mixed up 300ml of RA and 150ml of BnB from the TJ concentrates that was on offer so will see what they are like, by the way do these have to steep? Cheers Roly

Another thing that you could try is letting your diy juice breathe, just leave top off bottle for a day as it can smooth the taste down. Not sure why but it solves the perfume edge I can pick up in some of my homemade eliquid

Iv been using red for a very long time and I find it's better fresh in fact it's better kept in the fridge to slow steeping down because you will find over time it will lose some of it's fantastic flavour.

If it's proper VG then it will never taste sharp or bitter.

I use boots as well with no problems Vaping an apple pie from fa right now and that has a sharpness that the last batch never. It could be my nic was opened like 6 months ago but I've kept it in the fridge. Bloody annoying

Cheers Roly It's worth a try if you've given them that length of steeping time tsoko. Many mixers use RA and BnB immediately after making . . . . I prefer them after at least a week. But again that's down to personal preference.

I use everythingliquid Pg 72 Nic and boots Vg and never had any harshness with it. I don,t use PG as I get mine from the flavours and the nic, ends up around 60 vg 40 pg mix but that's down to how much flavour I use in the mix. Its just one less thing to buy. Just an idea but you may want to change your coil that can make a juice harsh even if its new new one or build.

I keep 3L nic in the freezer and have a only 100 mils kept in a dark place for mixing at a time. There are a lot of posts on here to why you keep your nic you are not using in the freezer as it keeps for along time Like years. Nic out all the time lasts a few years but a lot longer in the freezer which is good for stocking for the tpd.

The bottle I have in use currently, then I don't tsoko . . . . although I do decant into an Amber glass bottle to avoid as much degradation as possible. Really, Nic Base should keep for 2 years in the bottle it's supplied in, in a cupboard ( or similar ) away from a heat/light source before it deteriorates. Much of everything else you read is down to personal opinion and flim flam. In my own opinion and experience obviously.
