Hiya, back again with yet another question. My new Innokin T18 just arrived today, and I'm so excited... or I was. I opened it, oohed and ahhed over it... sat down and read the instruction book from cover to cover. I carefully filled the tank with juice, (Manabush Coyote, 50/50) and put it on charge, but it was already fully charged so disconnected it. I let it sit for nearly 1/2 hour to make sure the wick was saturated, turned it on and tried to vape.... The juice tastes warm to the point of nearly being hot... not as in burnt taste, but in temperature; VERY warm, almost enough to burn my tongue. I very carefully tried it a few more times, but it is the same and now I'm afraid to use it in case I've done something wrong to it. It's a weird sensation, my first ego ecig doesn't do this. The battery itself doesn't feel warm to the touch- just the vapour off the juice. Help! I hope I don't have to send it back.

Firstly - DON'T PANIC! It is a more powerful device than you old E-cig so the vape may well be a bit warmer. I am guessing it comes with the 1.5 ohm coil installed? it's written on the side of the coil or on the coil packaging. The 1.5 ohm coil will vape a bit warmer than the 1.8 ohm, the higher you go the less power goes through the coil so does not warm the liquid as much. Try it for a while, it's a new coil so needs to settle down a bit. Can you check to see which coil you have in the box, the one that's not installed? It is OK to vape. ETA it may come with 2 x 1.5 ohm coils, I'm trying to find details... ETA YES it comes with 2 x 1.5 ohm coils, it is OK to use these, give it time to settle, if in the end you feel it is still too warm you can get 1.8 ohm heads which will vape a bit cooler. Also you may want to try altering your vaping style a bit to make it vape cooler, draw on it a bit faster pulling more air past the coil giving it less chance to warm up. Let us know how you get on.

Ok, thanks! Yes, it comes with two 1.5 coils...and they had a box of five discounted with the Innokin, so I got those too. Oops. I guess it will just take some getting used to. If it still feels too warm I'll try a coil with a higher ohm.

A faster draw and a bit more airflow will keep the coil and vapour cooler. As DiscoDes says, once you have got used to the difference, you will quickly get used to it!

The T18 has a 14watt output, your older unit likely had something like an 8watt output hence your perception of a hot vape.

It's very different! Have you ever tried to drink something fizzy through a straw that has a tiny hole in it? That's how my previous ego-type vape pen compares to the Innokin... quite a change. And the flavour! Wow... I should have done this sooner. Just out of curiosity, how do I alter the airflow? As far as I can tell, there isn't anything adjustable on it. I'm gonna have to get a bigger box to keep my vape stuff in!

its not really adjustable for the air flow iirc you do have to line up two marks on it (i think)

(Slipstreaming) This can help to cool the vape a bit with devices that don't have an air flow control. If you have larger or smaller bore drip tips in your kit, they may also help to fine tune the vape. Good luck I

My cyclones (squonking) get really hot so I got wooden drip tips. But they are tiny chambers so inevitable. There ya go ... slipstreaming and squonking to get your head around now!

It starts .... ! Can you change the drip tip? Get some non metal ones and save your lips The tip the it comes with is plastic, but the day before it arrived I came across the Drip Tip Store, (oh, no....more vapemail potential!) HUNDREDS of drip tips! Anyway, I couldn't resist ordering a stainless steel irridescent one, (will try and upload a photo of it tomorrow) and it arrived today. Because it's cold, it actually helps to cool it down quite nicely. Plus it looks good, too.
