I forgot to dry burn & just went ahead & rinsed them under the hot tap. Will I have broken them? If not how long do they take to dry out? You don't even need to dry them out - just fill and vape. The first few tokes own't taste of much - just steam as the water comes off, but will be fine after that.

My experience of cracking so far -
2 clear V1 Sr - both had longtudinal cracks from the outset. They grew with use to the point where they leaked. One was destroyed by a bout of curiosity and out into a franken tank the other has been repaired with a condom for now.
2 clear V2 Lr - one was crack free and has remained so. The other has a few circumferential cracks. Unused as yet, so don't know if they ill get worse.
From the HC GB I gor two red lr ones - these have a couple of longitudinal cracks., and two yellow sr ones which are crack free.
So it seems pretty random which are cracked and how, so far.

Sorry for dumb questions re rewicking. Would love to extend the wick on mine but have no idea how..

Would love to extend the wick on mine but have no idea how.. Jane E-cig wicks are made of fibreglass..You also ideally need a length of nichrome to make a new coil when you rewick. See ECF's Rockin' Robbie Videos on the stardust here: www.youtube.com/user/Estarra#g/uHe's got tutorials on almost all aspects of cleaning, dis-assembly and rewicking the stardusts.

It's pointless trying to remove the cap..There isn't enough space/clearance in there for you to maneuver it out... Good news on this - I've just tried and it is (just) possible to get the cap out using small forceps to grip the little tube at the top. This will reduce the need to disassemble them quite a bit, and I get a decent view of the coil too.

Good to know..
I tried a couple and it was too big to come through but there are different manufacturers, so may be it's possible with the others. Did you manage to get it back on? Also is that the one with or without the cone washer?
I can see the coil fine even through the mouthpiece for a dry burn. I can also see the coil light up through the silicone cap from the sides when it is successfully dry burned.

It's with a cone washer from the recent groupbuy. It's the cone washer that makes it possible to grip it and get it up through the gap at the top. The cap assembly (washer + condom) is exactly the width of the top aperture so it's a bit of a squeeze but not too bad.
It fits back in easily enough, just pushes back through and it pretty much falls into place. Hard to do the extraction without forceps though.

I had some through the GB.
I found with the one I took bits off, it's easier to take the condom out first, then the metal pipe and washer combined. When you are putting them back, it's easier to put them back as a unit, otherwise it's impossible to get the condom back over the metal pipe, as it's a tight fit. I was using long nose pliers to try to pull out the whole lot, but it started deforming the metal tube, so I used a paperclip with a tiny hook at one end, to pull off the condom first.
I've said this in another thread, but I removed the condom (when the flavour dropped right off and I started getting burnt tastes) and snipped a bit off the bottom of the condom, put it back and it was fine. Now I'm getting juice getting into the air tube. So I must have taken too much off it, it must only need half a mm taking off. I didn't think it would matter, so maybe took off 1.5mm.
I'm saving the one which is leaking and when I've finished with another, will swap over the condom.
Hope this helps someone, these are interesting little devices which should be good.

Ah ok thanks man..Good to know if I ever need to take it out.. I tried them out with the V1's with the flat washer and it was near enough impossible. Never felt the need to after I found that I can see the coil just by positioning it.

They keep re-designing the flipping things. It needed the cone washer though, a definite improvement in design there.

I bought 2 Startdusts from GotVapes a couple of weeks ago - but had "misplaced" adapter Got adapter from GB (thanks Perpy), fitted and filled with great excitement, result = zilch > No amount of pin-pulling of Stardust, adapter or batteries (4.2v mod, LT, eGo clone all tried) makes any difference, nor using adapter with/without "washer". Had to try the second Stardust in case first one = DOA, that one's the same. So here I am with 2 dead Stardusts both full of juice From what I've read in this thread, they're a blooming faff anyway to keep going > I wouldn't mind so much but I haven't got anything that's working well to use in their stead, but that's for another thread!

Well the bad news is that the next version will be here next week with the longer wicks, just to confuse matters further

What adaptors did you get? I got 2x 510 - 510 and 1x 510 - ego, to use on my LT with the visions, the 510-510 don't work, I get nothing through them. The 510-ego works perfectly.

Sometimes you can adjust adaptors. If the centrepin bit of the adaptor has a notch in the top, you can screw them up or down to adjust the height of the centrepin. It might help to raise it. Luckily there are a limited number of causes. Do you have any way to measure the resistance of the coils? A multimeter perhaps? If not, all real men own one. If you know that the coils are OK, then it can only be a connection problem. Jason: A good move to lengthen the wicks, I think. At the moment it's like drinking from a long glass with a one inch straw. The changes I object to are the ones designed to reduce its useful life and make it more disposable. If they made them to come apart sensibly for cleaning, burning and refitting, or reduced their tendency to crack, I would happily pay more for them because I would save money over the medium term and waste fewer natural resources. Most people would still bin them at the first sign of trouble anyway.
