Hello my fellow vapers
I'm sat here dodging the showers and trying to get things done in the garden with a distinct lack of success. My thoughts are turning to my trusty but seldom-used Caravela mech mod, with a fresh Samsung 25R installed. I have a couple of drippers which could do with a rebuild, and I would like something pokey to satisfy my taste buds.
So this is what I have in my Building Box:-
Wire (all Kanthal) in most diameters from .25 to .6 Various wicking materials Kuro Coiler at 2 and 3mm Mandrel which goes up to 3.5mm (the standard FT one!)
My question to the experts reading this is - "Using dual coils and twisting the wire if required, what build could I put on my Caravela which would come out at around .2 ohm (or lower if you reckon my battery could handle it!) which would give me a satisfying vape with a fair cloudage to boot!?"
The drippers are a Lush by Wotofo, and a Plume Veil clone. I mention this as twisted larger diameter wires may not have enough space in the post holes!!
Your advice and guidance would be most appreciated!
Andy B

Yes that should be fine. I should point out that .2 is just about the limit you can go down to on the Samsung 25R and stay within the spec for it's continous discharge rating, anything below that resistance and you're into pulse rating territory.

I'm not a mech user but the twisted coils seem like they will have some ramp up time, if you look in the results table the heat flux doesn't get into the green until it hits 100w+. Maybe a coil that has more headroom in the battery specs and runs warmer in the power range would be better? your coils get off my cloud smaller, 'hotter' coils that would take less time to heat up and with less drain battery drain and loadI'm taking an interest because although I've avoided the lure of mechs.....my DNAs won't last forever

Good point SteveF - I'll try the smaller coils first but am tempted to give the twisted ones a go at some point!

It does mean putting a cheeky order in somewhere but I love ss316 26g 2.5mm ID coils on mechs, cracking flavour good vapour production as well. From memory I used 6 wraps per coil.

6 wrap 3mm diameter with the 0.6 or loose twist the 0.5 and do the same build.
Those 25R's are awesome batteries, handle lower than you'd ever go on a daily basis.
very popular in the cloud chasing world.

I have some 24AWG Hotwire by Chadster build in my mech 2.5mm dual coil 9 wraps each coil gives me 0.26ohms.
Fancy coils are out as they take too much time to heat up with just the available power in a single battery.
The bigger(longer) coils will vaporise more juice so make that your aim whilst keeping the ohms within limits.
The Hotwire has a faster heat up time but doesn't taste funky like NiChrome Does (to me)
Thinner wire takes less power to heat as does a low ohm build, you just have to find the right balance.

Thanks enjay, went with the 6 wraps .6 on 3mm ID, built on my Nixon and showing .24ohm, working a treat with my Lemon Meringue Pie - thanks for the help
