Hello! I've been reading here and elsewhere for a few days now but still can't decide what I want/need. Decided I don't want to spend too much so I won't get a riva 510 unless someone can persuade me otherwise. I was thinking of getting something like this: enjuice.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=57&product_id=1285or www.vapeescape.co.uk/510-carto-kit~300or www.ecigsforyou.co.uk/starter-kits/ego-650-starter-kitI realise they're a bit different but really don't know if I want cartomisers or separate cartridges. Leaning towards cartridges and atomisers I think as I understand I can just fill the cartridges rather than messing around drip tip filling cartomisers? I also think I want manual batteries for reasons I can't even remember now... I don't smoke that much - only a couple a day, much more on a night out though, so thought the batteries on these mini ones would be ok for me? Can someone also please explain to me what the 'tank' models do? Thanks, and sorry if this info is already here somewhere, I thought I'd looked everywhere...

Hi Rev, Welcome to the forum....Questions are easy, Answers are harder, lol.
Well the Riva is the standard E-cig that everyone here at AAE-C likes to 'push' onto newbies as it represents good value at the price, but I do not own one, I have never tried one, so I will not suggest it as it would be just wrong.
Others will be along very soon to extol the virtues of the Riva system, recommend a supplier for it (Jason @ Vape escape normally). give you a discount code and send you merrily on your way to vaping nirvana.

I don't know if that's a dig RSR, but just for information I would much prefer new starters to buy the Vision Kit over the Riva. Yes, it's more expensive, but it's about as good as it gets when it comes to reliabilty which is much needed when people start out. The Riva, with it's atomisers and cartridges is becoming outdated (we swap them for cartomisers around 75% of the time) and the Joyetech batteries are better quality (I really don't like saying that, but it's true). So feel free to recommend away because I think all input is good.

I'd rec this one... www.britvapes.co.uk/LED_Ego-t_green_or_purple_1100mah/p1204754_6145238.aspxhas the same 1100 mah battery as the riva, but comes with 2 cones, has a screen that counts your puffs, and shows the battery level, all very useful to a new vaper, and is cheaper overall. Personally I'd use the money saved to buy a Vision Ego / Stardust / CE4+ clearomiser... As I think they are great, especially for people just setting out, as they are faff free. The riva is a good starter Kit though, and Jason (vapeescape) is a nice person to deal with, plus he always (touch wood) ships things out in a timely manner, same day, every time I've ordered. He will also swap the atomiser and cartridges for cartomisers if you ask, which are better IMO, more faff free, just not as good as the vision ego's I mentioned earlier. Not looked at his Vision Kit (yet) but if it includes the vision ego clearo, that may be worth considering too. Remember you'll need juice too

JAson just had a look at your vision kit, it's a shame you don't do a similar thing with the riva 1100 batteries I'm guessing the fact they are genuine Joyetech's pushes the price up a little... does it? EDIT: Just realised how that last question sounded, sorry, should make it clear, that for genuine Joeye's, 2 visions, a case, and juice, I still think it represents good value for new comers. I just wondered if a Riva kit, with the Visions, would be cheaper?

But it does also come with e-liquid and a case, which we thought would be more useful than a cardboard box. In fact, I've just ordered a large quantity of cases with VapeEscape on instead of Ego and we will be swapping everything over to cases over the next couple of months. No more cardboard boxes

Yeh I like those cases, they may stop people setting fire to their trousers at the football, pmsl (although, the off/on option should really have done that, if it was used ) Do you think you'll ever offer a riva, vision/stardust kit?

Any idea why Karma? I just go to the page in question and then copy and paste the address bar contents, but then again I'm pretty clueless with stuff like that

Have a look at the link in the long post for the Rainbows?
It did that as well for the vision kit, so i just linked to the page before it?

it's when stars are used in the address, the forum software interprets that as the end of the link for some reason, noticed this before.... but if you use this method I think it works http://www.vapeescape.co.uk/the-vision-ego-rainbow-**standard-resistance**~303 www.vapeescape.co.uk/the-vision-ego-rainbow-**standard-resistance**~303

Yeh I like those cases, they may stop people setting fire to their trousers at the football, pmsl (although, the off/on option should really have done that, if it was used ) Do you think you'll ever offer a riva, vision/stardust kit? I think the 4.2V from the Riva's isn't ideal for the Visions Alvo, particularly not the LR ones (and soon to be very LR 1.8ohms). They also have a tighter draw which some don't like. We're just finding that there are a lot more options available with the eGo batteries. Once I have our cases though, I will be able to make kits up in any format that people want, so that should help. We just want to make it as straightforward as possible for people to get started, because that is the biggest hurdle. VV and all the other fancy stuff simply isn't needed and can often cause more confusion than help (that's not to say it doesn't have it's place in the longterm). Actually speaking to people on a daily basis in the shop has helped us fine tune what we're offering, so that's a good thing.
