Torchy has an 8 cell for about 40 quid and myepack have the Nitecores, best to make sure you're buying genuine with chargers and batteries.

I'm not a battery or charger expert minime I still use an Efest Soda charger I got from Torchy, I seem to remember something about fake Nitecore chargers a while back but I don't remember anything negative about the genuine ones. Where are the battery police when you need them lol

Personally I would go for fast over the number of bays, I use a XTar SP2 to charge batteries for my rolo and can do a set of VTC4s in 2:20, but only have to be around the charger for 70 mins at a time. A true 1 A 4 bay may match or beat that speed, but most charge at < 1 A when using all 4 bays. Sorry no specific recommendations other than XTar in general.

Not a fan of Nitecore chargers myself. I'd not buy one that hasn't been well reviewed here.

the xtar vc4 charges at up to 2 amps (based on the power supply its connected to) single cell it will sling 2 amps at it, 2 cells it will chuck an amp at each, 3 or 4 and tops out at half amp each, also since it has a usb >power lead you can use it in a car via a fag lighter >usb device or off your pc /laptop or off a proper wall outlet the only difference is the amount of current its drawing.
one thing I have noticed with mine is sometimes you have to restart the charger to get it running at full power but that's down to the power outlet rather than the charger I think .

They never charge at 2 A according to XTar unless they have been revised, 1 A max www.xtarlight.com/05-chanpin/p-001-1.asp?styleid=340.

They never charge at 2 A according to XTar unless they have been revised, 1 A max www.xtarlight.com/05-chanpin/p-001-1.asp?styleid=340. well the charger I have was drawing 2amps to charge a single 18650 (it says its providing 1 amp to the battery on the display) and took under an hour to charge the battery, normally it will draw a few milliamps more than its delivering in charge current (the usb power outlet I have details what current is being supplied) for instance right now the power draw on the outlet is 2.15 amps charging 2 x sony vc4's at 1 amp each, when it was charging a single vc4 it was pulling the same 2.15amps (nothing else plugged into the power outlet in both cases) yet it will only pull 1.65 amps when charging 3 batteries or 2.15amps when charging 4 batteries, thus I must conclude that it was actually pushing the full 2 amps into the single battery last time (particularly as it was fully charged in under an hour having received around 1650mah) perhaps that's down to being lucky enough to receive a revised box (on startup it displays ver1.03) ive no idea, other than it passed the genuine product verification check online
