Hi all, on some youtube videos I have seen vapers use an ohm meter which also fires the coil, does anyone know where I can get one of these please as I fancy an upgrade

Would that be a Geekvape 521 Tab @mrsmac as they are not cheap roughly £39-£40.

Wowsers, that looks a bit more technical than I had seen but I believe that may be it, I want it so I can position my coil on the deck, check the ohms and heat the coil so that I can make sure it is even before wicking up and putting on the mod many thanks

Not sure why anyone would want one that fired? Yes to knowing the ohms, I have one of those, but why would you want it to fire?

Not sure why anyone would want one that fired? Yes to knowing the ohms, I have one of those, but why would you want it to fire? The firing is for adjusting the coil so instead of building my coil using the ohm meter, then firing on the mod to tighten it up, I would do that on the ohm meter instead. I prefer building on the ohm meter as it is flatter than a mod

You have lost me on that one. Surely the ohms are the same whether fired or not? Yes the coil may change once heated, but the ohms are not going to change that much. I don't have one that fires so don't understand why it makes a difference.

The ohms are generally the same within a point of two but I just want to be able to fiddle with it before putting on a battery. Part of the reason is I have more tanks than batteries so that way I can still build my tanks and have them ready without taking off what is on them already. Probably over kill for some but I've seen them a couple of times on you tube and were wondering where I can get one as I think it will come in handy

Fair enough. Seems like a big premium to get that functionality.

If u have the money you obviously do what you want. I use a £16 30W iStick from FT for firing test and the replacement control board for that is a fiver from FT. And I've changed one that just died after 10 months. Tweek coils with metal instrument s/driver/pliers...MOD box will short/low resistance protect. If not ...new control board.
Configure the mechanics on a cheap ohms tester (round thing) and fire on the iStick if necessary. I often forget. Accuracy... +/-10% for electronics/electrics unless somebody is paying for instrument/calibrated components. Thats a bit spendy and not normal China stuff.

I also use one, great for tweaking coils , or dry burning ( Kanthal) when replacing the wick, I think I got mine from FT

If you fancy one Mrsmac, get yourself one, you won't regret it. Due to the stable platform, as has been stated already, it makes coiling a whole lot easier IMO.
