Dogless..

Poorly Toby was at vet yesterday.

Blood tests, examination and injection and sent home.

Today he had deteriorated dramatically and I left him at the vet in anticipation of urgent surgery that may or may not solve the problem that is not yet diagnosed.

Vet is not wildly optimistic but will do the best with her 30 + years of experience, and Boy Pup has been left with loving kisses and prayers.

And I have just been informed that he didn't make it through the surgery.

He had a tumour in his chest that had eroded a blood vessel causing internal bleeding, but the tumour would have killed him anyway.

He was 4 years old and had turned my life upside down when he arrived in my house as a 7 week old puppy, taught me stuff about myself that I'm not proud of, and showed me how to be a better dog..

And I hope that helps me be a better person.

So sorry to hear that lynwlt and at such a young age, but at least he is not suffering now, although you are.

Would love a dog again myself, but the thought of losing them plus the ridiculous vet bills puts me off.

Awwww . . . . no, I can't believe I'm reading this lynwlt.

So, so sorry for your loss as I do know from our conversations at the time of my Sammy's demise how much your furry companions mean to you.

Play safe now over the Bridge Toby, taken too young as you were. 







Please, please ( and I hope lynwlt doesn't mind me saying this at her time of grief ) . . . . don't let saying goodbye at any age put you off owning an animal - whatever time you have together to love, spoil and enjoy them is a blessing - truly.

Dogs are exceptional creatures and worth far more than we can ever give them in terms of love.
I wouldn't have missed a moment with either of my boys, despite the huge holes they have left.

So sorry to hear of your loss, i lost my oldest rat this week
due to a brain tumour, i feel your pain my friend.
