Hi everyone, although I've often lurked in the background, I've not posted on AAEC for a while as I've been happy using my Kanger Protank 2 mini's with 2.2ohms coils, along with some GS 2200mah batteries. Now my lovely Protanks have been discontinued and I can't buy them anymore, although I've still got around 40 new 2.2ohms coils to go through but they won't last me forever so I'm thinking of moving on to a box mod. My problem is, although I've been vaping for around 4 years, I'm still totally clueless about all the technical stuff. I've been looking for a few weeks now but I'm totally confused about the wattage/ohms etc I'd still prefer a "charge and go" set up but where do I start? My Wishlist is: 1. Still be able to sometimes use my precious Protank 2 mini's until they need to go to vaping heaven. 2. Something relatively small, if possible where the tank fits inside the mod. 2. Replaceable batteries. 3. Not to have to worry about Ohms and wattage and the like. Now I understand that I may not be able to have all my wishes come true but if you guys have any suggestions on what I should look at, I would be sooo grateful. Thanks Sue

Hi B Road Blaster, Thanks for the link. I use the Mini version so I'm not sure if the coils will be the same for this one but I'll look into it

Thanks for the links guys, I'm checking them out as we speak. Any advice for a suitable box mod that I can try?

Well they all will need to be adjusted for what w you need and you sort of said that you don't want that so bit hard TBH There is a few pen type set ups that are very easy to use and need no adjustment but then i'm not sure if your protanks would work right with them. As a simple set up dos these work well but don't think its what you want. myepack.co.uk/kits/innokin-endura-t18-starter-kit.htmlmyepack.co.uk/kits/innokin-endura-t22-starter-kit.htmlboth work very well and both just fill up tank click button and vape away no need to adjust anything and coils are easy to get.

I would use those width tanks on an iStick 30w all day. (A little 'slim' but who cares...) I've even bought dozens of them from Fasttech for local vapers who are too scared to shop from China.

I like the look of your second link B Road Blaster but is that a built in battery or replaceable? I would really prefer a mod that I can have several batteries in case they run down. djs, does the iStick 30w have built in battery? So many things out there and I'm totally confused

Most of the small mods have built in nowadays it seems i suppose thats how they can get them so small. The i stick 60w is quite small and you can change the batts on them but again you will need to set up the w you want it to run at.

It looks like I need some education on how to use them I don't think I'm looking for sub-ohm mods or anything with great power. Just something that has long battery life or interchangeable batteries so I can carry spares. In the past, I've found the lower ohm coils have burnt my mouth so that's why I use 2.2ohm. I'm checking out the iStick 60w now thanks.

The problem you are going to have is most mods come with all the bells and whistles on nowadays its quite hard to find a nice basic one. see something like this could work but has built in batts www.naturevape.co.uk/envy17-stealth-mod-30wthey also do it in a 22mm size You might also need to use a ego to 510 adaptor for your protanks to fit on a mod. but if you do they are only a couple of quid.

I really like the look of eNVy17 Stealth Mod and I may buy one of those anyway but I'm now thinking/realising I won't get everything I want in a basic mod. So, based on what you've told me, I think a mini mod is out of the running and even one which houses the tank inside? My priorities would now be: 1. Interchangeable 18650 batteries. I panic if I don't have a backup battery and backups for my backup when I go out 2. Still able to use my Mini Protanks until they give up the ghost. 3. A nice, leakproof, easy to use new tank would be great so maybe a complete kit would be a good option. 4. A reasonably discreet size. If I'm missing something please feel free to prompt me
