Hello dear fellow vapers
My TFV4 is getting a hammering due to a summer cold (pah!!) and the triplecoil head I have in is coming to the end of it's natural life, so I am considering wicking my brand new RBA head to use with my Clearstorm and Clarity juices to combat a sore throat and sniffles. Does anyone have any tips or tricks they would be happy to share with me regarding the best way to wick or use this deck please? If not, I'll just go ahead and wick it the way I think it should be done and see what happens!
Many thanks in advance!
Andy B

I have the single coil deck for mine and its fairly straightforward. Just make sure not to fill the juice channels with cotton or it won't wick properly. A tiny bit in the top of each channel does seem to help with wicking but too much and you'll get dry hits. When you get it right once you won't have any trouble after that.

The bog standard RBA-1 that came in the box? bin it. Couldn't get on with it at all, its a bitch to wick and if you need to make an adjustment the damned thing is almost imposible to gain access to without draining the tank or unscrewing the deck from the base. The holes in the sides of the deck are too small for a decent wire and the coils end up with long legs. The screws are convex so you can't trap a wire under them and the two decks that I have both had really poor threads. The RCA clapton deck is much better to build on although I think it could still do with better juice supply.

Mine's the TF-R2 - twin open coil pre-installed .26ohm. I'll have a nose around for videos later, but I had already sussed that the juice channels are quite small, so will take care not to overfill them! Thanks erik514 and SteveF, have either of you had any experience with the TF-R2?

Sorry no. I got the single coil with mine and have enjoyed that so didn't see any reason to order the dual deck. Ive managed to get it to work with just regular coils, clapton and have tried a vertical build in it and all have been good. Its just the wicking that can be tricky.

I've never been able to fill the tank without it leaking a fair amount of juice out with the RBA deck installed. Standard procedure; don't stuff the channels etc as stated above.

Hi there Andy, my name is Rory and I work for JAC Vapour. Up until the release of the TFV8, the TFV4 was my daily go-to tank. In my experience using the RBA deck there was initially a bit of a trial and error period, please don’t give up if the same happens to you, as once you get the knack for it, you never forget and its great when you get it working. The first piece of advice that I recommend is to start simple, there's nothing more frustrating than trying to install a build that you've put a lot of time and effort into, only to find that it doesn't fit, no matter how much you try, or the find that the build its self just doesn't agree with the tank. As for wicking, both inside the coils, and in the juice flow reservoirs, try to make sure your cotton is snug, but not too tight. Making it snug will prevent any kinds of leaks and will hold enough liquid for you to get a comfortable vape, but packing it too tight will restrict the amount of liquid required to soak the coil, causing dry or burnt hits. Also, I highly recommend threading the outer piece of the RBA before snipping your cotton down to size, this way you can always be assured of a perfect fit. I hope this has helped you with your ideas on wicking, if you need any more assistance or if you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
