You haven't. For some reason ( ) Rob doesn't give this information Richard . . . . but he has stated on a FB group that I'm on, that it does. Plus the base I ordered from him last month all came ready ' amber bottled '.

Everything liquids also comes in amber glass bottles. Indeed; and at £135 for 2.5 liters. What is the difference between that and cheapest base in plastic containers I wonder?

It does cost extra* but you can of course buy the stuff already in 200ml glass bottles. Dark Star now supply as ' standard ' their Nic Base in Amber glass bottles Richard . . . . in any volume other than 100ml I *think* it is. Bought the 5 x 100ml freezer pack from them a couple of weeks back and it came in brown glass bottles (I had emailed them first to check)

Agreed . . . . although it's not always quite so simple advising a Vendor on how best to promote their business - especially on FB. I'll say no more than that. I had thought the freezer packs would, it was going by what was said on individual bottle purchases that I got the other impression. If the specifics were clearly stated on the website that would help of course . . . . . .

Makes little sense does it, creating work for yourself.

Well I've just decanted a few litres and I am worried about the oxygen thing. All I can do is live in hope now The trick, as I see it, with decanting, is to pour slowly down the inside wall of the bottle so you get minimum turbulence and bubbling as the nic being poured out hits the surface of the nic already decanted. If you want to be very particular, you could pre-fill the glass bottle with argon gas before you start to pour. Since the intended storage time is now far greater than in the past, this is something I'm having a look at. Argon costs about £13 per 60 litres (compressed) plus about £10 for the regulator needed to get it out of the cylinder so about £23 for 60 litres if [ you] anyone else thinks it might be worth a go.

OK for all you worrying unnecessarily about oxygen degradation blah blah , simple steps for decanting , pour slowly , fill close to brim , seal with tight top , put in freezer . There are some over the top comments and worries , proof is in the pudding .. I am using nic that I've had in storage for over 4 years , no discoloration and no noticeable loss in strength . and no oxygen bubbles going up my nose either

It's reassuring to hear again that nic can be stored for extended periods by taking simple precautions when decanting. I have no personal experience of storing for longer than about a year and haven't bothered with decanting so far but that's going to have to change now. Thanks for your input.

This all came about over or around 5 years ago , when we were first threatened with an imminent ban , some of us took it upon ourselves to stock up ( not Perpetua naturally because what she keeps is normal stock levels for her ). In my case for personal reasons I started smoking again and my nic was duly forgotten about in the back of the freezer until about 18 months ago , when I started vaping again . So I have been using some of said stock , as with any product being stored for long periods the contents may degrade , but in our situation by using suggested methods , containers and copious amounts of common sense as far as I can tell from my own personal experience degradation should not be a serious issue or worry with regards to nic storage.
