I'm sure a couple of very old members will remember me, I used to be here a few years ago and although I carried on vaping (still am) I lost the will to continue it as a hobby. So what happened was, I hit on the thing that worked for me and just used it. My setup is/was, an 18650 Provari with a RSST genesis tank, with a SS rope covered with SS mesh (top to bottom), the air hole was drilled out to I can't remember what size on the RSST, (I thought that was daring). Four wraps of .25 kanthal wire and some type of tobacco juice. Since then I've tried a couple of variable mods, but always came back to the Provari. I was (and am) happy with the RSST, I fill the tank, then drip on the wick different flavours of juice, different ones, but always tobacco based. I find the dripping helps with the flavour and changing juices (with dripping) stops me getting bored of one juice. Always juices that complimented each other though, no good dripping a pineapple juice on a tobacco tankful!. I used to have to clean out the tank frequently (as it used to go black) and fire the wick/new coil, then I worked out that cleaning the wire/wick with a kitchen paper towel every little while, took the worst off the wick and expanded the life by several times. This may have something to do with the juices I use, alot of sugar or something. A while ago I got a Kanger submini setup, tank and 18650 mod, I hated the freeflow airiness of the tank, but the mod was good, the tank also suffered from the thing I hated before about pre brought coils, they went off taste really quickly and gunked up in a day or two. I decided enough was enough and this old dinosaur would have to come into the new world of ecigs, only to find that everyone was talking about and almost only available, was subohm tanks, which you had to lung inhale and had a complete through flow of air. Didn't like it. I've tried a few friends ones (expensive) and still don't like them So... I bought a Vicious Ant Kraken 1.2, I thought I'd get it before the TPD came in and I thought the bigger tanks would be hard to get, I've tried an evening to get this beauty set up, but its defeating me at the moment. Compared to the RSST, it's hard This is how I feel today............ Old, very OLD ..... I don't understand all the new technology/terminology/discussions on vaping forums/subohm/nano coils, etc etc. The kit I use is 2 or 3 years out of date, I feel I'm missing out... basically Wah Wah Wah!!!!! Anyway, hi

Hi womble even though your setup is old you enjoy it and that's all that matters.

womble!!!!!!!!!! How very good to see you. Does it really matter if what you're using is considered ' out of date ' as long as it works for you. This is what I'm currently using, got a wretched cold at the mo . . . . . and most of the ' modern ' stuff is making me cough and splutter my boots up. So I've dug out a Vamo and 901 atomiser . . . .

Hi womble even though your setup is old you enjoy it and that's all that matters. Hi tsoko, I know, it's all slightly tongue in cheek tbh. It is amazing, I see vaping all over the place now, when I used to see a vaper a few years ago, I'd go up to them and have a chat, now people think you are slightly nuts I haven't changed, vaping has. Is everyone using subohm tanks now? I have tried to work it out from forum postings, but it seems difficult to get a grip on.

Hi perps! Great to see you too! OK...901's.... well as long as it works for you. lol. Sorry to hear about your cold. 901 though, How do you get on with a subohm freeflow tank then go back to a 901? What's your std set up now?

A few years ago it was the norm for 18-24mg nic in juice, now it's more like 6mg. I have reduced from 24mg to 3mg and in my own mixes I'm down to 2mg. It all helps with the TPD and the future availability of nicotine in large quantities.

I'm still on 18mg myself.

Honestly, I'm pretty adaptable when it comes to equipment and I enjoy the different vaping experiences, so it's no hardship for me to chop and change what I use. Normally for work where I have to be more discreet vaping, then I use an iStick of some description and a Protank . . . . . at home I generally subohm with whatever mod and iSub's or Subtanks.

Hiya womble long time, no see! Lots of new gear on the scene, confusing even for me watching the lightning fast changes! I'm still swapping and changing vape gear just like Perps, so whatever works best is fine by me though I favour mtl style i'll give most things a try.. haha

I know my vape box is huge and I only use 2% of it, (must throw it away (can't, as I may use it someday (yeah right ))) yours must be unbelievably massive. I do honestly find it incredible that the entire vaping community has moved to subtanks.... I suspect had I kept up to date, I would have too. Anyway, I'm here to learn and absorb now. So I should be around for a while, together with bone questions and terrible wit!

Keep trying with the Kraken womble Its a really good vape when you get it to work. Takes patience but its worth it in the end. Its not totally sub ohming these days although it does seem to be the new best thing. Although I have far too much new sub ohm setups when i really want to sit and chill out I find nothing comes close to my trusty old Kayfun lite plus or an Ithaca. Horses for courses and each has its place.

So I should be around for a while, together with bone questions and terrible wit! I'm sure we'll cope.

Hiya womble. I use both MTL and DTL on above ohm and sub ohm. All day at work I'll have a Protank or GS Air or little Vamo/Ego tank on an I-Stick with between 1ohm and 1.5ohm coils then evenings I have my Melo and I-Subs on the go again usually on I-Sticks as I like the vape from them with my tanks and I do find it makes a difference what mod you use as to what vape you get. Also have the Kayfun mini, that's a good tank and I've even managed to coil it myself. I also have a Joyetech Aio, if you like MTL then you may well like those as the coils they come with (0.6ohm) are MTL despite being technically sub-ohm coils, dinky little pocket set-ups for on the go. I can swap and change easily and just adjust my mixes to suit my tanks and coils Stick with what you enjoy, no point faffing around trying other stuff if you've found what you like. I've a plethora of tanks that I've tried and boxed back up and gone back to what I enjoy and what's easiest.
