Evening all,
Apologies for another silly question...
I went to my local B&M vape shop today (haven't been for a month or so) - nice new ranges of "premium" juices - some of them £20-25...for 10 or some 20ml....(I guess American imports?)
What is the general feeling on "premium" juice? Are they worth the money and THAT much better than MOR juice?
I've been using Element 50/50 (£4), Rejuiced (£5-6) and Vampire Vapes (£3-4) so far - generally pleased with them
Surely regular usage of "premium" juice is cost prohibitive to most people?

Ask any home mixer their opinion on ' premium ' eliquid and the very often ridiculous price tag . . . . you'll probably get a resounding, no they're not worth being robbed for ghostrider1971. I've hardly bought any ready made eliquid in the 5+years I've been mixing, the few that I have in the main have been disappointing/just ok compared to what I can make for pennies. With some of the absolutely wonderful ' one shot ' concentrates available now that would give any so called premium blends a run for their money, there's never been a better time to have a dabble at DIY.

hi never a silly question when it comes to e liquid.
some are really nice but are they worth the premium price, hmm yes and no.
for example one hit wonder milk man. £39-45 a bottle but it is 180ml. strawberries and cream and it is lush. break it down and its roughly £2.50 for 10ml and worth every penny. but then we have mole juice who make clones of premium juice. their take on milk man is milk mole and its £12 for 100ml and all profits go to childrens charities in the uk and since ive started buying it ive not bought the american import since as i much prefer it at almost quarter the price.
now there are some ive bought for £15 for 15 or 20ml and theve been crap.
another one im hooked on at the moment is pancake man which is roughly £20 import but it is a 60ml bottle and well packaged with 2 spare bottles a badge sticker and key ring.
its all down to personal taste and i dont mind once in a while splashing out as they are worth a try. the only problem is there are just so many to chose from.
on the other hand and as mentioned above, mixing your own is the way to go if your on a tight budget.
ive forked out over 2 grand on juice in 17 months but buying cigs would have cost me a lot more if you go by the counter in my sig below.

as said above - the only 'silly' question is the one not asked I generally mix my own - most of the time just buying interesting concentrates - like now my advs are valhalla and jotuns wrath from afterlive vapour - now and again I treat myself to a 'ready' juice - but would not pay £ 25 for 10ml imho that's really exaggerated

£20-25 for 10ml i would rather have my wisdom teeth pulled through my nostrils with a pair of molegrips before i would pay such ridiculous prices.

I've never paid that kind of money for juice and I wouldn't! Just because the use the word premium they think it gives rights to rip us off. That mole juice does seem a fair price though. Mixing your own really isn't very hard and it's most satisfying. I'm not very creative but I follow well rated recipes and 90% of the time I'm very happy.. There's some really good recipes on this forum and it's really spurred me on to make some great stuff

Another one here that would never pay that sort of money for e-liquid.

Thank you all for the replies - much appreciated.
I'd really like to try DIY but a bit scared as a newbie
Last weekend someone recommended Wizzard Vapes pre-mixed VG (70) & PG (30) for newbies to me. You then just chuck in the concentrate and job done?
I've been reading about the Claire's creamy coconut on the mixology forum - sounds amazing :-)

I'm not a fan of pre-mixed bases, as they are limiting, but that's just my personal opinion. If you feel that buying some would give you the confidence to try DIY, then buy some as that's all that matters . . . . essentially all that needs doing, is adding the concentrate(s). Nothing to stop you buying the component ingredients at a later stage when/if you wanted.

I pay £5.40-£6.00 for 30ml. There are some excellent liquids out there for double that. I rarely buy them. Anything more than £15 for 30ml is taking the proverbial. Back in the day when 3-5ml a day was normal (not sub-ohm) a £4.99 liquid was do-able. Sadly the industry is encouraging high power vaping and luxury liquids; it's a general brainwashing of the vapers. I'm too cynical to be brainwashed. I met a vaper (newbie) proud to 'only' vape 60ml a week at £9.99 per 30ml. His shop encourages him to vape 3mg at 50 watts. No surprise. A grand a year on 3rd rate juice. This is the industry.

djs - may I ask where you get your liquids from?
Always looking to try new, reasonably priced places :-)

I'm lazy and tend to use premix base AND one shot concentrates What Perpetua and Q said about the premix bases is true, but not necessarily a problem if you know what you want/like. Almost all of the juice I vape is 3-6mg and high VG, so the premixed stuff is perfect for me. On the rare occasions I need something stronger with a little more PG, it's a good excuse to treat myself with some of the money I've saved from mixing cheapish juice for sub ohming.

No wrong and right about it Bren - if it works for you that's all that matters. And I'm a huge fan of oneshot concentrates myself! As long as new mixers are aware of the limitations pre-mix base has.
