Hi, I've just joined on the advice of a member of MSE, I would have posted earlier but have spent the majority of the afternoon reading through some of the posts. I can see a new shopping adiction forming!
I started with my e-cig 2 and a half days ago. The first one I bought was a genesis 510 with an extra battery and regular tobacco juice. I like it but less than 2 days in one of the batteries have stopped working and it's getting really frustrating waiting for my only working one to charge up and then run down again really quickly.
So bit the bullet today and ordered a riva 1100 starter kit as well as some more juice. After reading all the posts on here I wish I had been more adventurous with my choice in juice and tried a different flavour but ho hum that will have to wait for the next shopping splurge!
Not had a real fag since starting and hopefully it will stop that way!
I am a total newbie and don't know what half of you on here are talking about, so be prepared for the very stupid questions to follow (I appologise in advance!)
I'll kick off with one thing I have been wondering about. I noticed some people on here talking about keeping their juice in the fridge or freezer, is there a reason for this?

Hello NJ. Juice likes to be in the dark and if it's kept in the fridge, it keeps longer.

Hello, great to see you across here, I think you may find it a bit more supportive There are no silly questions, so don't be afraid to ask! E-juice is supposed to have a shelve life of around 2 years and it's recommended to keep it in a cool dark place. I have most of mine in a cool corner in a toiletry bag! Pronbably not a good idea if you have young children Keeping juice in the freezer is supposed to extend it's life beyond 2 years!

Should have added, if you keep it in the freezer, it can last years, so I've been told. Ask as many questions as you need, that's what we're here for.

njk, hope you enjoy your visits on here, everyone is so friendly and helpful and sure that your vaping journey will be successful Great choice of kit too. As for juices in the fridge........ some say that they keep nice and fresh, I think however most juices have a 2yr span anyway (correct me if I'm wrong). As long as you keep your juices in a cool, darkish place you will be fine. I keep mine in my bathroom cabinet I'm sure you will find an excuse to splurge soon

Hello & welcome Njk As Karma says, we never think any question is stupid. So please don't hesitate asking anything - even if you think it is a daft question And congratulations on not having a real cig since you got your first e-cig

Welcome nj. Great choice of kit. Don't worry about the fridge, your juice won't last that long I would suggest you try a range of flavours, go for 5ml bottles till you find what you like. Most people stop looking for a 'tobacco flavour' juice and enjoy the wide range of alternative tastes available to vapers... I'm into coffee and chocolate flavours at the mo

Oooops mine have been sat on the desk in the office, I've just shoved them in the draw, lol. I don't think they will last 2 years the way I'm going it seems perminantly attached to me at the moment. Thank you for the warm welcome! I can't take credit for the choice of kit I went on advice and what others have written on here, I must admit an 8 hour battery seems like complete bliss compared to what I have now. I will report back when it arrives tomorrow. I will post on the other not so friendly forum now and again, in my proffession I'm used to being where I'm not wanted so It would be terrible to break the habit of a lifetime. Just wondered if any of you get any grief from vaping in public? Nipped into town today and I got some very strange looks, mainly from smokers, which made me chuckle.

Welcome! The Riva is a great choice, the only advice I would give at the moment is not to go buying 30ml or 50ml of a juice because your tastes will change a fair bit as you get into this. I started on tobacco and bought a couple of 30ml's which I didn't like.
The other thing which suprised me is how the flavour can change, I revisited the ones I didn't like at the beginning (including the two 30ml bottles) and I now like them, steeping (maturing) of liquid seems to change the eliquids nicely! Enjoy this site, it's addictive and full of great people!

Hi I started on a genesis and after upgrading via the very good advice from members here i thought they were pants so be pleasantly surprised when your goodies turn up it is just as addictive as smoking and 100 times more enjoyable Flavours available by the bucket load and lovely they are too as said b4 tobacco flavours dont do it for me now after years of smoking i have refreshed taste buds pop in the virtual pub tonight (Dunwheezin) for an abundance of virtual drinks (no hangover) and a bit of banter. ask any questions as there will always be someone here who can help with subjects from flavours to cartomizers to voltage and resistances to get the best from your kit and even one who can help if you have two left feet (all about's longest lasting joke).
