So I've just got some SS fused clapton and above is my calculation on the dual coils I'm trying out in TC mode. I'm using my Reuleaux DNA200 with 3 sammy 25'rs. The ampage I'm drawing seems too high for the batteries to me though. Am I wrong? 40 amps! Can anyone tell me if I'm going to blow my face off with this please?

Using your locked figures above Steam-Engine reckons you have only 28% headroom, but at least it's not in the red, but you are getting close and yes Amperage was 40A:
Just realised you are talking about SS and TC, the DNA200 probably will not hit anywhere near the 180w under TC at the normal temp of 430-450F or even at 500F

No the DNA 200 spec has max output current as 50 A continuous & 55 A peak, it will be pulling far less from the batteries (input current). Ohms law calcs don't really help with regulated mods, it's easier to work in watts. EG Power: 180 W as in your calc adjust for 97% efficiency losses 180 / 97 x 100 = 185.6 W needed from the batteries when the batteries are at their lowest is when the max current will be pulled current from batteries at 9.3 V = P/V = 185.6 / 9.3 = 19.95 A, if the batteries were full it would be 1865.6 / 12.61 = 14.72 A

I wound some fused SS316 clapton wire on Thursday, call it a therapy moment (although the neighbours might not have been too happy at 8am). 0.45x2 c/w 0.16 wrap. spaced build in the griffin came out at 0.199 ohms. Escribe says the rolo is peaking 20amps, holding temperature at 12amps very very smooth with the SP3 tc mode 210c @ 90w

I'm not even bothering with preheat, I tuned it down to lose the initial spike and then thought why bother... all it was doing was making it crackle.

My rolos seem to lose consistency and I really don't see why. Ive always had this with ss on 4 rolos and numerous atties. I thought this update would sort it but no. I'm on the verge of kanthal only

It's like sometimes it just goes weak and I have to get the mod to re-recognise the coil before it performs again. It's so annoying

I'm on the verge of kanthal only It will be a connection somewhere, probably the atty, 510 or 510 ground, but if it's all your DNAs then it's probably the atty. If you have to lock ohms 30-45 mins after fitting a new coil so it has a chance to refine the res first.

I'm on the verge of kanthal only no, I had one tiny fluctuation 0.01 yesterday but the mod had been left in the car....its a black car I was just pleased that the griffin hadn't emptied itself into the cup holder. I was that close to nichrome /kanthal only again too, SP3 seems to have done it but my temperature preferences are creeping up again. Its actually the first time in over 6 months that this griffin has worked as intended....kind of. It vapes, it hasn't dumped the juice I almost like it. Are you using spaced coils? I made one contact coil, awful.
