I recently swapped out all my kit for TC mods. I'm loving the Vape I'm getting but building the coils has been a right PITA. All the builds I've made are coming out super low ohms, the lowest being .08. I've got stainless steel 26g, Ni 200 24g and 30g and Titainium 26g. At the moment the only real success is the Stainless Steel. How low will you build? And what are your thoughts on for mentioned wire? I'm an experienced Kanthal builder but these new wire and setting the TC has been a new learning curve. I'm going to stick with TC as I now know what burnt juice DOESNT taste like. So what are your experiences with Temp control?

Tip: don't try contact coils with Ni200 - as that is a main cause of problems with resistance using Nickel wire - SS316L from StealthVape is probably the best of the SS wires and is probably the easiest to work with apart from NiFe30 also from SV, I have also found Titanium good to work with and you shouldn't really get too many problems with too low a resistance.
I've actually given up on using Ni200 wire
I use mainly 24 & 26 AWG

My lowest builds are 0.03 ohm, dual 0.4 mm Ni200 8 or 9 turns on a 2 mm former if IIRC, though I prefer to use triple twisted 0.2 mm Ni200 for 0.05 ohm build. I use Ti and SS as well, but you asked how low...

SS is great on DNA 75s & 200s, I haven't tried another mod that does a reasonable job with ss, forget anything Joytech or YiHi unless you like a harsh vape. SS will give you a much higher res and it super easy to work with, don't dry burn past dull red as the surface breaks up. Ti is a great vape, medium res, but very springy to work with, again don't dry burn past dark red. Ni is easy to work with, very low res that is a problem for some mods, nice to coil with, but a bit soft to rewick unless you use twisted and the easiest to clean IMO. Nife30 is good, but now the DNA 200 has updated fw to get smooth regulation with ss I would use ss rather than NiFe30.

how low? Titanium. average 0.15, pairs as low as 0.05 Ni200. 0.1 single and I've had pairs running at 0.04 Stainless.....0.1 but I find 0.2 with a pair of fused SS316 claptraps is spot on I'll agree totally with VapingBad, DNA200 is quite the dogs danglies with the new firmware and SS316 profile prior to the update, titanium was my go to vape, 24/32 claptons or single 22g/0.6mm. All spaced coils I just found setting up and balancing contact coils so tedious.

Lowest ive been is the Bond build 0.07 ohms
Didnt feel safe with it, it was a ferocious vape, went through batteries and juice at some rate
0.10 is what i aim for on mechs, 0.20 on regulated

Single ni200 I tend to go for a sweet spot of 0.15 ohms. Single stainless I go for about 0.3

tbh i only use mechs for mtl so about 0.8 ohm
on the rx200 if im being daft about 0.13 is the lowest but its a regulated mod so there is v little danger of bad things happening(i hope)
on a mech the lowest i would go was 0.2 ohm as i knew vt4.s were ok at that but tbh now im on a regulated mod the lower the ohms are dont make a better/bigger vape

Tried temp control with numerous wire types and in the end decided that it wasn't worth the hassle. I didn't experience the "better flavour" that a lot of temp fanboys rave about and working with ni200, well, i'd rather put my balls in a vice.

I agree *-SARIN-*, cant say I'm getting any better flavour but now I'm getting the hang of it, I've noticed when changing the wick it's clean as the day I put it in. Ni200 is a nightmare, but I'm one of those 'won't be beaten' kind of blokes. I've found all the way through my vaping journey, it's been trial and lots of errors, but I get there in the end.

Funny, I was talking to the guys at cornishliquids about this this morning; we concluded that TC is only for a very small percentage of vapers, and that we were all of the opinion that it's not worth the hassle. I've dabbled with it, but couldn't find the 'better vape' that everyone refers to. Like many others, I cut my teeth doing Kanthal builds and they do me perfectly well, although I do sometimes use NiChrome wire in my drippers, but never under .2ohm.

I'm currently vaping at 0.05ohms with an Aromamizer on a DNA200 chip with 2 cells (133w max) at 40w. Ni200. A fantastic vape, but re-wicking is an issue. I usually just re-coil at the same time, as the wire becomes far too soft to allow a decent re-wick without needing the coils to be reworked into shape. All in all, an excellent vape, when I can be bothered to do the work required.
I like the Ni200, but when the roll is used up, I won't buy any more.
Probably....
