i'd really like one of those Perpetua - it's just finding room for it in my small house and whether I can afford to get one in the next month or so Out of interest - how often have you needed to defrost it since you've had it? I've defrosted it once spacey ( this year ) in the almost 3 years that I've had it . . . . so it's pretty low maintenance in the scheme of things. Prior to that myself and friend who I mix for, kept our stash in our normal freezers - but as we both only have quite small models it wasn't terribly convenient, so we went halves on one of these and I ' home ' it. Doesn't take up a massive amount of room, it sits on top of my existing freezer.

When it comes to freezers buy a new one rather than be tempted into saving a few pounds on a second hand one. If over the next 5-20 years depending on the size of your stash the cooling gas escapes from the closed system then instead of cooling the freezer the pump turns into a heat pump and within a very short time the contents start to cook--- unless you have an alarm on your freezer it might be weeks or even months before you discover it.

My 500ml VG base which I have nearly used up has lasted myself, my wife and some mixing for my vaping mate for over 12 months. That started out at mixing at 6mg, we are all down to mixing at 2mg, and that is set to drop more in the future. I guess a litre of base would be not too extravagant, and would see us easily through 4 years, although hopefully by then I'll be nic free anyway. Ho hum, we all knew it was coming so there's no need to get annoyed. Shame that the Government can't see sense!

With 3 million Vapers now in the UK and Brexit about to happen, there may be sufficient clout to persuade the government that TDP should be scrapped sooner rather than later, in the interests of health if nothing else.
I do not expect the status quo ever to return, but even a tax on Nic Base would at least give us some choices.

I make that 963% more expensive than when I first bought ready-to-go unflavoured nic @ 18mg. We knew this was going to happen. Glad to be rid of it all...... Forget governments and what-not, that is simply taking advantage. 1 product, 1 TPD approval/license. 963% increase. No chance. Eat my shorts.

(at least until next pay day )

Whilst I feel that such a thing could possibly happen, living "out in the sticks" as we, our friends and our neighbours do and having been dependant on freezers for our food supplies for 40 years or more, we have never heard of this happening to anyone, nor have we read about it happening either in this area or country wide.
So what are the statistics of such an occurrence. 1 in a 100? 1 in a thousand? 1 in a million?
From what I have read on AAE-C, freezing nic base has been a fairly standard practice for a few years now and with TDP impending, it is even more important that those who wish to guarantee diy mixing in the future, should lay in whatever supplies they can afford and freezing such supplies where appropriate. Common sense tells us that nothing will last for ever and therefore the price of a new freezer, after time, should be factored into any financial considerations.
I personally would be disappointed in any freezer that did not last at least 20 years.

As ever, thanks for this thread @hondo and for all the comments from others, made me decide to stock up now - I'm down to around 6mg now (started at 24mg last June and have been reducing ever since), so have grabbed a 4X250ml freezer pack from Darkstar - that should keep me going for awhile! Ironic though. According to some stuff I've seen 6mg has such a low physical impact that, if the Nic was withdrawn without me knowing it, I probably wouldn't notice the difference (I don't really believe this....). All I have to do to kick it altogether is learn self hypnosis....

I think am beginning to believe this. Rather than jumping up in power (permanently) every time I drop a level I start at more watts then gradually back off in power. Today, I vaped 4.8mg at my 'old' 12mg power which is 14 watts MTL give or take. I'm hardly noticing not vaping now. I feel a calmness and self-belief starting to take effect.
