Actually was quite nice..

Mango chutney goes with almost everything. But I'm not ready to waste good (or even bad!) scones and cream to see if it works as a jam substitute for a cream tea

As a young'un my father and I both had drinks sat on a table in similar glasses with roughly the same amount in. They didn't differ in colour enough for me to notice what I was doing and I took a massive gulp of single malt thinking it was apple juice.

It tasted and felt horrible and I really didn't enjoy my first experience of being tipsy!

Where did it all go wrong?

Stung like crazy, but several swift eye baths later with tepid water and all was well.

I have also put Comfort in my coffee cup instead of milk  . . . . . and drunk it, didn't taste very nice - so I wouldn't recommend that as a tipple!

Er indoors scoffs at me asking for any kind of  cream with my scones.
She on the other hand has her scones with best butter and jam.

As for the woman who's the subject of this thread, was she mixing by sight?  Not tried that meself as I'm happy mixing by weight and I have plenty of that...

Well if you had prepared them the Cornish way with the cream on last you could have scraped the marmalade off
