I have yet to go into a pub that will not allow it. unless its one of my locals i always ask when buying a drink and explain if they are unsure what it is. however, i do try to keep away from people with children or who are eating as they are unlikely to understand what we are exhaling is harmless.

i think the smoking ban in public places has naturally made publicans more ready to accept this anyway.

most places i go in say they already have people in their that do it.

That's a great idea Chrissie, have our own map and thread for this, it also makes it easier for rusty to find our additions and add them to the CAM-VIP map.

When I started a few months ago, I went to my local pub and asked if I could Vape! Landlord didn't have a clue what I was on about, when he saw it he thought it was smoke!!! and said no, even after explaining. A few weeks later when others saw me Vaping in smoke area (they tried it and loved it) they heard about it and discussions started in bar, eventually the landlord said "Oh, didn't realise" "Yes you can, but I goot check with the brewery, just in case". So, I want to write something to send to the brewery to explain Vaping and for them to allow it/promote it (more customers). Any help would be appreciated.

I'm taking a lower profile to concentrate on getting the message of CAM-VIP across without it getting confused with my assumed personality.

In May, CAM-VIP is two years old and we are going to have a re-launch with a change of emphasis. We (the core members) were getting fed up of being seen as a group of 'alcos' who liked vaping in pubs by a few forum vapers (not on here I may add ) - that is not what we ever wanted CAM-VIP to be. It is a serious campaign intent on getting smokers to 'have a go' at ecigs without ramming them down their necks. Unfortunately, the subtlety of the 'message' was lost awash Rusty's personality.

I've always felt bad that I've no been able to help the campaign much I used to be a regular real ale pub goer several years ago, but it's only once in a blue moon these days I get out to a pub, mainly due to health reasons.

Right off to see if I can sort out the coding to embed the map into Alvo's opening post. If not I may have to start from scratch with a google map instead.

i have yet to find a local country pub that is not completely open to me doing this in the pub. i always ask first but no one seems to have a problem.

@cam-VIP I am more than happy to join up with you and work on educating publicans on the non-effects of customers vaping.

Has an approach ever been taken to address vaping with the Licenced Victuallers Association. Very much in both ours and their members livlihoods interest if the pub trade body approved.
