OK so a couple of nights ago I mixed up 50ml of appleicious at 6mg and it is still too strong in nicotine after trying it today. I do not know what the hell is going on as I use exactly the correct amounts every time but it is starting to do my nut in! Sounds to me like either what you were used to before was less than stated on the bottle (as Perpetua suggested earlier), or that your nicotine base is stronger than 72mg/ml.... if you are sure that you are measuring correctly. For 6mg/ml and a 50ml batch, you should have added approx. 4.2ml (5 grams) of nicbase.... which I presume that you have done. If measuring by weight, are you zero-ing the scales after each ingredient addition, or have you worked out the cumulative weights? Could there be an error in your process?

I am zeroing the scales after every part of the mix.
I must have been vaping zero nic to feel the way I am vaping tbh mate. I used 4.82 (meant to be 4.99 on the calc)of nic n my mix for my 50ml bottle
I have used tjuice 12mg juice not long ago and felt OK so I think the nic must be way too strong.

(Note: I've just corrected the nic amount in my post above.... it initially was for 100ml) The only thing that I can suggest is try making up some even weaker samples. [ETA] Maybe the supplier didn't mix their bulk nicotine before decanting off your bottle, and you've received a (more concentrated) 'hot spot' from the bulk. (The only way to confirm this is with a nic test, but you might not want the expense). Maybe contact the supplier and raise your concerns.

I thought i was doing something wrong but I have double and triple checked my weights. I even weighed and empty bottle and a full one, subtracted the difference and it was spot on.
Looking like contacting darkstar maybe the only way forward.
Pissed off tbh as I seemed to have wasted a fair bit of concentrates on what seems to be crap that I have no idea if I can mix it down to an acceptable level.

It's not much consolation stu1873 . . . . but I do feel for you with the issues you're having just starting out. What should have been such a simple exercise has turned very disappointingly into anything but. I can only echo Dave's recommendation to contact Rob at Darkstar for his input on the matter. Please, please don't let this put you off DIY . . . . .

It won't put me off, its just a bit of a bummer wasting cash on liquid I cannot use tbh.
I am going to buy some more base and pg vg from another vendor and see how I go. Any other reputable sellers of nic base in the UK with fast enough postage to get to me before Christmas?

Try this stu1873 mix up a 10 or 20ml tester but leave out the nic, but leave space for it to be added 1mg at a time until you reach 6mg. see at what point you get the rush as this will give you a baseline for the nic content, whether it is 1mg, 2mg etc. I can't believe that Darkstar would send out pure nicotine, which sounds as though that's what you've got? A strange one indeed.

Aww I feel for you stu1873 Not sure whether this has been said before but it might be worth checking your scales with a known test weight. If you Google the weights of uk coins it will give you a ready weight to use. Just a shot in the dark for you to consider

Just checked my scales with some spare change.
All coins are showing plus 0.1-0.2 so going by the theory that the scales are showing a bigger weight than that is on them i would be put ng less liquid on them to achieve the desired weight. Is this correct?

Is this correct? Yes, as it is reading higher, you would be not adding quite enough liquid before thinking that it's enough. Might also be worth checking a larger weight in the range of the weight of your e-liquid ingredients (i.e. a load of coins) to see if the error is cumulative or not.

10 x £2 coins = 119.96g. I don't think my scales are out by that much tbh.
