DIY Newbie

I have finally done it and placed orders for all of my gear.

I bought 500ml of 72mg VG base. 500ml of PG & 500ml of VG from Darkstar.
1x 30ml of Red Astaire & 1x 30ml of Black & Blue concentrates from T-Juice.
1x 30ml of Heisengerg & 1x 30ml of Pinkman concentrates from Vampire Vape.

A whole array of measuring tubes, syringes, beakers and stuff.

and as i was buying all of this stuff i threw in a Smok Alien kit because i just can't help myself to something new and shiney!

i am also on the lookout for a decent set of scales as i watched a vid on someone measuring a mix out on scales and it look so much easier and less messy, so if anyone can advise me on a set i would be most grateful. Unfortunately the one Q linked to was out of stock and the other one on that site looked awfully small for placing a beaker on so i gave it a miss whilst ordering my stuff.

Bought a set of scales today so i should hopefully be good to go this weekend.

I am already looking at sites for more concentrates before i have mixed a drop. I have a feeling this may get out of hand!

I'd advise buying small 10ml concentrate bottles and make lots and lots of testers before committing on bigger stuff.
I've been lucky since I've started by having quite a few mates using my juices

It's a fast and slippery slope stu1873 . . . . but a fun and very satisfying one! 

Get a few successful mixes under your belt and you'll be wondering why you haven't tried DIY before now.

So my stuff i ordered is coming in thick and fast. I have my scales, beakers, some empty bottles and concentrates but no Nic/PG/VG from Darkstar Yet. Seems they have a shortage of stuff as i ordered days ago and it is still processing!

I am an impatient fella so i am quite disappointed as i was looking forward to trying out mixing in my free time this weekend.

I wouldn't argue against safety gloves. But if there is a danger it's knocking the bottle over and drenching your clothes. I have a 2 lt coke bottle filled with water on hand for safety.

I think Rob at Darkstar has been rather inundated stu1873, so orders are taking longer to process than they would normally be, no consolation to you I know waiting to get going . . . . hopefully your goodies won't be long now.


If you wanted to have a little test run with a zero nic mix and your concentrates, you could buy some plain VG from Boots tomorrow:

Just what I was going to suggest, Perpetua!! Mixing without nic is quick stu1873 and would give you a feel for what's involved, plus you can vape the Red Astaire and the Vampire Vapes mixes straight away!

I had placed an order last week for my daughter and it took 2-3days to ship, they are snowed under with orders (I think there's even a banner on their site now stating orders are taking longer to process.) RM will also be getting busy now on the lead up to Xmas.

Came back from the watching the football tonight to be greeted by a package from Darkstar and another with more concentrates!

I will be having a wee shot tonight and mix 2-3 bottles up with different flavours.
