ok, I've dropped my nicotine content and combined with a lingering cold given myself vapers tongue. Typically everything tastes like cack and I need to take a break from my usual flavours. Not really into menthol but unflavoured is pretty much the pits.
So I'd like recommendations for making a concentrate from menthol crystals please. I've seen two general methods 10% mix 1g : 9ml or what looks like the full on supersaturated solution.
Starting levels of either in a 100ml mix?
Also read about adding koolada? Pointless or does it add extra depth?
Cheers Steve

super saturated is best IMO, a few drops is all ya need then to add the punch to any bottle of juice. I just crush up the bigger crystals to smaller 1s (not like powder) then fill a 10ml bottle with em & top off with pg. Warm it up a bit till its all dissolved.

Also read about adding koolada? Pointless or does it add extra depth? Pointless . . . . but I'm not a fan of Koolada anyway, it's something you could always add at a later stage if you felt the mix needed it SteveF . To add depth to a Menthol mix, you'd be better adding some Spearmint ( which helps to sweeten it a little ), Peppermint or Eucalyptus. DV make a terrific Mentholyptus concentrate so the flavours do work really well together. www.chefsflavours.co.uk/dv-concentrates/2515-mentholyptus.htmlFlavours like Aniseed, Wintergreen and Horehound are also good ' combiner's ' with Menthol.

I'll pick up a packet of Hall's whilst I'm in the chemists. phtumshk, I'll go for the 10% solution...solution, I can be a bit heavy jandea bit more leeway for experimenting

Cheers Jim, first mix made up and I'm happy with 6%, can always go up a little from there. pretty sure the flavour will increase overnight. Its not bad actually, a damned sight better than the distant memory of menthol cigs.

Notes on menthol crystals-- When making a concentrate from Menthol crystals 1 Don't forget to wash your hands after handling menthol crystals as rubbing your eyes = aaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrfffffffffuuuuuuuaaaaaarrrr 2 Menthol crystals dissolve well in PG -- But won't dissolve in pure VG - They will in warm VG but will soon re-crystalliz when liquid is cooled

I have some Menthol crystals in PG solution for emergencies, and my current cold may just be one of them! I've just filled up my Baby Beast with Rocket Fuel (a take on Red Astaire) which should do the job while I'm out for a birthday meal tonight!

The link suggests For 1000 grams 660 grams menthol crystals 340 grams PG So, about 1 third PG and two thirds Menthol, by weight. You can't dissolve that precent /weight of menthol crystals in PG ------ Solubility in Propylene Glycol is up to 50%
