I did the search and yes, it has put me off the Cupti *aagghh*. There are solutions given that seem to work for about ½ of the people complaining but to be honest it's more faff than I'm up for. What I want is, in no particular order (lol) - 1) Box mod, as you said djs so that I have independent/removable batteries 2) Top fill tank - really disliked filling from the bottom on the T3Ds - that doesn't leak (why I was so happy with finding the Cupti!), holds more than a couple ML of juice and is suitable for a MTL vaper 3) Adjustable airflow And this to fit together (tank not hanging over the box) and be nice looking because, as I said up top, I'm superficial like that Was hoping to have made a purchase by now, but I do want to get it right and not be disappointed when the new kit arrives. Will have to give it up for tonight as my head is thumping with too much info. Almost certain I'm over thinking it all, just sooo want to get it right!

The box mod is easy shazzaAs for top-fill tank, I've also been trying to crack this challenge. In theory, you should be able to use a Kanger tank (designed primarily for sub-ohming) like the Subtank if you can get higher resistance coils and the airflow allows you to really have maybe one hole, not a whopping channel of air. Also, with Kanger the coil itself is often designed for more airflow, so trying to vape a 0.5ohm like a MTL isn't marvelous. Today, I was trying an iSub V with a classic MTL drip tip (Kayfun) and setting the airflow to about a cocktail stick size. Not bad... but the tank is really a bit strange i.m.o. If you can live with the top fill system, it might be worth a try with the 2.0ohm coil. Not tried that coil yet. The Nautilus X might be good, but the 2ml capacity is poor really. Most big tanks are sub-ohm, but IF you could get one with a MTL coil and MTL airflow setting, you could be in business.

I have the Nautilus X with the 4ml adapter kit, make sure though that you use the 1.8ohm coils the 1.5 for some reason are rubbish!! I like this tank although I know a lot that don't! I mainly use RBA's but sometimes just for ease of use I have the Nautilus for out and about.

Maybe worth considering an Aspire Plato shazza.

Dont be put off by sub-ohming, there are levels of sub-ohm, by choice I now use a combination of Joyetech eVic VTwo Mini 75WTC, an SMY60 miniTC, and an XCube II. Each of these has a Kanger Subtank mini using stock coils 0.15ohm (bottom fill but SO easy) and using temperature control, I vape MTL, I have the airflow wide open, and I LOVE it. PS I haven't given a link to the latter 2 mods as they are now over a year old so not commonly available

striker42 - having a look round YT at the Plato now, but seems much like the Cupti and wondering if it wouldn't have the same issues....will watch a couple more vids.

Ok, think I'll stick with the box/tank set up, and as my requirements are mainly to do with the tank (that is right, yes? lol) thought I should find a tank that meets my needs/wants and then a box to match it to. Could be backwards, but made sense to me In that light I went searching for ones that suited and found a few, but to condense, they were all on this review site thingy - Tank Reviews . The ones I thought would suit were the Triton 2 - the Cubis (?) - the Nautilus / Nautilus X (which have been suggested). The X would need the adapter kit to get it over the 2ml, but the Nautilus is 5ml. From what I read, all will do the 1.5 - 1.8 ohm I'm looking for. Seem good choices to you lovely lot? I like to think I've made progress

TBH i would go with the nautilus for what you say you are after.

Maybe worth considering an Aspire Plato shazza. That is much more like it striker42I agree, different tech coils and far less troublesome.

Oh dear, I am sorry shazza but that is a fake review site interested in your money more than getting you the best hardware. I'm tempted by the suggestion of striker42 actually. Although I don't have it (the Plato), I've not heard anything too negative over on the 'other' forum. Could be a winner.

My wife bought a plato and it's settled her into vaping better than previous devices. It's easily maintained and takes the nautilus coils, holds about 4.5ml of juice, easy to fill, removable 18650 battery but also has usb charging for convenience. My good lady uses the 1.8 ohm coils which last 2-3 weeks and that is with baccy flavoured juice. Nice mod and I appreciate it won't be everyone's cup of tea, but on this occasion it ticks a few boxes.

I was reading this (old) thread yesterday and somebody mentioned the GS Air2 as a suitable 'beginner' tank, to which I added the following: Vape Shop Brighton has a nice set of filters on their Tanks page that lets you specify MTL (and many other options). GSAir there is £9, GS Air2 is £12 - if you don't want to give your shillings to TW. Heads are a bit pricey (5 for £12), but they look easy to rebuild (if you are tight like me) ...if it's any help.

The Plato was one of the ones I had on my "long" list...do you know, I think it may be time to close my eyes and stick a pin in! Removing any from the list that members have pointed out have known issues (thinks Cupti) I shall give the now longer by one shortlist a final go over and report back when the deed is done. At ease...
