Seeing as though my old school Kanger cartos are simply no longer available and at every turn (of a store's web page) I'm being shoved into buying something a bit more modern , I'm currently making a short list of the kit I like the looks of...because I'm superficial like that I want to get away from my 'pen style' kit (VSII with me cartos) and get something smaller, in size not power, and more box-like. I am definitely NOT a sub ohm vaper, happy with the little cloud my current kit creates and don't vape DTL. For me vaping is simply a substitute for the stinkies. Many, possibly all - don't know yet as I've not read through the specs for each - of the ones I'm adding to the shortlist have VW and TC. My VSII batts have a volt choice on the bottom which I run on the second setting consistently (3.8v). Can I go ahead and choose one of these VW/TC boxes, will they work for me if I'm not into sub ohm?

You won't need TC if you just want to do what you are doing now.
Vaariable wattage is great because you can just swap clearo/tank and get pretty much the same vape without having to fiddle or worry too much about what resistance coil you have.
I'm a big fan of eleaf iSticks and the pico, but there are many similar good value things around of the same functionality. I use mine with regular aspire CE5 clearos or EVODs and a tank which I use to run 18.Ohm coils. I'm not at all keen on sub-Ohming either - I think it's a bit of a fad with lots of expensive kit catering for a very small segment of the vaping market.

I moved on to Istick40W + Nautilus mini set up which I still use daily. You can use any box mod with the Nautilus, but before buy anything I recommend to watch some vids about it on YT I do not want big clouds and thirsty tanks as well. If you are thinking of rebuild your coil my advice is Hurricane V1 or Digiflavor Siren.

There are various smaller mods around with built-in batteries, charged via USB, which would be suitable. Is battery life a factor? Obviously size equates to a larger battery which means more life between charges, but if this is lower on your list of priorities, then the iStick is a good palm-sized mod with a good life. Here are just a few suggestions - I;m sure there will be more, and better, over the horizon! :- Eleaf iStick 40w 2600mahKangxin 50w (requires single 18650)Coolfire 4 40w 2000mah batteryHope this helps!

I don't sub-ohm and have no need for temperature control and the above is relatively cheap and can be gotten anywhere. Better than your idea of a fancy Innokin kroma shazzaSo definitely with aspire CE5 (you so don't want CE4 - but have little experience of them - others can say why) or evods . Will do you just nicely!

Can I go ahead and choose one of these VW/TC boxes, will they work for me if I'm not into sub ohm? Yes. Absolutely. As long as the box mod of choice can get down (as opposed to up) to the watts you require. You will be pleasantly surprised too because the power you thought you were vaping at on a Spinner was probably a little less than the maths would suggest. Can you remember the average volts you used and the resistance of your atomizers? *edit, you said 3.8v*

I get about 9-10 hours out of my VSII batteries which are 1600, how that would compare to a different piece of kit I'm not sure but more time is always a big plus I am aiming for removable batteries so that I can have one or two spares at the ready all of the time. Pancser- no, no rebuilder here, lol I'm on a (the!) mission today, so will spend some time looking are your suggestions. I've seen a couple of the names around quite a bit, but just now I will leave you with the shortlist I had just finished completing before posting Don't know the shop, they just had loads on their site so I could find all of the ones I was interested in in one place, would probably purchase elsewhere. www.gosmokefree.co.uk/aspire-plato-starter-kit-free-delivery/www.gosmokefree.co.uk/aspire-mini-odyssey-kit-tc-inc-free-battery-free-delivery/www.gosmokefree.co.uk/aspire-archon-150w-tc-box-mod-free-shipping/www.gosmokefree.co.uk/kanger-cupti-75w-starter-kit-free-delivery/

I would recommend a cool fire, really smart little mod and fits nicely in the hand. I had one which I gave away to a family member last month and they love it and they don't do sub ohm either. You've had some great recommendations here already though, good luck and I hope you find a better "modern" set up

Having just read your post and see the Kanger Cupti is on your list, they are for sale at £33.98 at Vapestore UK. Not used this site myself but the price is good.

No, I hadn't! What's with the squeeze bit, lol? I've not seen anything like that before Edit: watched a couple of vids on it and not keen on the coils just because they're so different to what I'm used to...thank you anyway, I learned something, lol.

I wouldn't be buying any of those given your question and requirements. All you need is 1) a Box mod (separate tank and independent batteries) 2) a MTL tank.

I am really, really liking the Cupti and think I'll be clicking a buy button for one somewhere tonight. Any reasons not to, will I be horribly disappointed? I like that it is top fill, 'one piece', holds 5ml and is ok for MTL vapers but a definite step up from current kit...honestly not trying to be difficult. Just want to be sure there isn't something wrong with the choice.

shazzaIt's rumoured to be poor. Those type of coils are a disaster. I have read it time and time again on the US forum. BF coils (Joyetech and Kanger) are a technology causing many disappointments. Search for "Cupti flooding gurgling"
