djs as you are online - Who is it that you said lives in that big house we can see on the hill from here ? Not me. I've gone out to a huge palace in the countryside. Today. (Huge Palace = ramshackle bungalow, outdoor loo and 4 fields)

Going through Bristol now.
I'd still prefer it if you didn't ask.

Going through Bristol now. I'd still prefer it if you didn't ask. Not long from there BrenDThere's slow traffic on the M5 (PLUS the M5 upgrade road works south of Birmingham). If you want to avoid it all, take 4 miles less and have a more-or-less guaranteed arrival time (normally 10 minutes longer if the M5 is flowing) you can set the Sat Nav for Kidderminster and when you get a mile or two short of Kidderminster, set it for the Showground/Shrewsbury. That's what Shrewsbury people do. It seems slow (it is slow-ish) but cross-country is the current preferred method.

Bloody A49 was closed coming out of Hereford. Best part of an hour added to the journey.

Safely in my hotel room.
They don't normally do room service and the bar closed hours ago, but I've got a pint on the way. The guys that checked me in thought I'd be desperate for a drink. They weren't wrong!

What a mare of a journey for you both BrenD, at least you're here now . . . . in contrast Tim and myself had a really smooth and enjoyable journey, the only traffic we hit was a minute from the town centre! We stopped en route for a widdle and a cuppa, only to find that the service station had a motorway Waitrose - talk about home from home! What thrilled me no end, little things and all that - I got discount on our coffees. So that's 87p towards a Shopping Indiscretion at VF. We had a brilliant night last night, although I ' peaked ' a little early, bladdered old biddy moment . . . . so Graham and his wonderful nephew Callum, very kindly escorted me back to the hotel about 9pm I think. There's been a rude awakening here this morning, someone set off the Fire Alarm at 6am!!!! Anyhow, I've taken quite a few photos - so will get them posted when I'm back home, probably on Sunday. Mandy xx

As long as BrenD is safe, I can continue with plumbing and tree felling. See you all later with a bit of luck. (Anyone know how to upgrade pipes for Sub-ohm supply?) Have fun.

VF 2017 was, for me, much more about the social side than eyeing/buying new gear or juice. The marquee was the perfect base to achieve that. It was great to meet so many AAEC members, both new and old. Hopefully I got round to everyone at least to say hello or have a brief chat. It really was a combined effort that made the whole thing a memorable day.
