Bit heavy weight this one 😬 Having researched PH/VG/ADDITIVES I haven't found a definitive answer to my questions. Medical studies and opinion seem to be divided 🤔 Does vaping have a negative impact on diabetes? I'd like to be armed with some information before my next clinic.
I know that nic affects blood glucose but as someone who smoked 20+ a day for years I have noticed a significant increase in my blood glucose levels and a few other things 😕

With regards to PG & VG, which are metabolised into sugars(I think, certainly VG is), I would say that the quantities absorbed from the vapour aerosol would be that small as to have minimal effect on blood sugar levels. How many ml do you vape/day? ... not very much. Nicotine, I'm unsure of, but much better than smoking. Many people with diabetes vape. If I find any studies I'll post them, although I'm having keyboard issues at the moment. www.diabetes.co.uk/ecigs-vaping-and-diabetes.htmlwww.diabetes.co.uk/forum/threads/e-cigs-and-diabetes.39457/[ETA] It would also be good for any diabetic members to post their experiences

Don't know about medical studies but my levels are pretty steady and on the good side. I had a check about a month ago and despite not being a good boy over Christmas my Doc was pleased with the results. I don't think steaming does anything to blood sugar levels. Hard to imagine that it should really. If we could just breath our food then 20 minutes in the supermarket would give us a full meal I've been steaming for 4-5 years and its 6-10ml/day, 0.3 nic. I've been a diabetic for much longer than this and the switch from smoking to steaming didn't do anything. This might not really help you but I doubt the Doc will spank you for vaping.

Lots to think about 🤔 Have you tried chucking it out the window? I find that usually resolves the issue lol

Not quite ready for a lower one but its early days still 🙂

TBH lesley1 i have found no difference in my blood sugars at all since i started vaping. I keep very good records of my levels ever since i was diagnosed over 20 yrs ago now ( type 1) and i can look back and there is no change in mine at all since vaping. Diffrent pg /vg ratios again do not seem to make any difference same with different sweetners in my mix's.

You might try a month of vaping non sweet juices - baccy and coffee, no others spring to mind. And leave off drinks which contain artificial sweetners. The pancreas gauges blood sugar with taste buds siilar to those on the tongue and it can't help if it gets incorrect measuremants due to artificial sweetners. link this article may be useful.

I'm type 1 too @ B broadblaster and have never been a "good" diabetic but have been re engaging with my local diabetes team over the last year and my glucose levels had stabilised. I'll give it a few weeks to see if it calms down a bit, could be anything really 😀
