I think I may be coming to the end of my vaping journey. Just got back from holiday and only used my mod first thing and bedtime, I went through nearly 2 weeks on 2 batteries and one tank of juice, the main reason was that I couldn't be bothered to carry it around with me, it felt like a new found freedom, an empty pocket and 2 free hands. We'll see how it goes, I've vaped a fair bit today but didn't NEED to... it feels really strange

Yes fair play Do you think it would be true to say giving up vaping is easier than giving up stinkies? I often think it's more than just nicotine that people get addicted to in stinkies

Welcome back Q, hope you had a lovely holiday . . . . perhaps the relaxing environment also contributed to your lack of needing to vape? If you do decide that you are indeed past vaping, then well done and good luck to you.

More power to you if you can Q . I cannot imagine it myself, at least not yet. But if you can then great! Good luck. .... I often think it's more than just nicotine that people get addicted to in stinkies I'm convinced of it.

For me it is just a hand to mouth habit, I'm convinced. I was vaping heavily before the holiday (stress caused by end of year accounts, and actually trying to FIND a holiday) I was beginning to feel congested through vaping (not had that before), the holiday itself started stressful, we were already booked to see Lord of the Dance in Plymouth and the only decent holiday we could get flew from Gatwick the next morning so we went to Plymouth, watched the show, then had a bite to eat and continued the journey (another 4½ hours), sat around in Gatwick for a few hours and flew... another 10 hours. By the time we arrived we were shattered (but slept well) and I thought if I can go that long without a vape I dont need it through the day, so I just took my mod out at night, then gradually less & less. I think the time is right, but like giving up the ciggies I'm not saying that I've stopped, we'll see. and I think it IS easier to stop vaping, it took me 41 years to give up smoking and I can guarantee I wont be vaping in 38 years time (just passed my 3 year vaperversary)

Go for it Q, that's how I quit. It wasn't intentional, I just found myself vaping less and less to the point there was no point. A year later and no urges

More power to you Q , whatever way it works out. For me, I think what keeps me vaping is playing around with the juice, mods and attys as much as anything!

I must admit that a few weekends ago we went to stay over with my Godfather and his wife in West Devon. Although Tony was a hardened smoker he had a bypass a few years ago, so kicked the fags into touch. I know that I would have been able to sneak outside for a vape or two, but didn't feel it was the right thing to do. From Saturday mid afternoon to Sunday 4pm I didn't vape at all, and I surprised myself by not missing it a bit. No cravings, no need for the (1mg) nicotine I am currently vaping. Sure, I puffed a bit of juice on the way home, but that was more from habit than anything else. I am by habit an addictive personality (aren't all smokers/vapers, I suggest?) and I never leave the house without my rucksac full of vaping gear, but I am now wondering just how much my body needs that little bit of nicotine to function normally. I will continue to vape, but I am relieved that I have conquered my addiction to the extent that I don't need to vape if I can't. Interesting stuff . . .

We are all different and whilst some can stop using nicotine at the drop of a hat, others will be dependant on it for the rest of their lives.
From my own experience of trying to stop smoking over a 15 years period, the most I succeeded, with the aid of an NRT product, was 18 months.
So, when I eventually found Vaping, although I wasn't "smoking" and I was enjoying Vaping, I really did not count it as stopping smoking until I had completed my perceived mandatory 18 month+ smoke free time limit. Also, and again from my own experience, I think I will always need the level of nicotine that I am on at present. If I was to try cutting down that level, it would have to be cut down for a period of longer than 18 months before I could deem it to be successful.
Both myself and my neighbours have experienced periods of being off the fags and/or the vapes for periods of time, but have all succumbed to the nicotine cravings eventually. Sometimes weeks, sometimes months. No surprise really when even the WHO reckon that 95% of folks who stop smoking, return to it within 2 years. Ofcourse these figures do not include Vapers or Vaping.

Well done Q I've spent about a tenner on vaping since Xmas (top up juice). If I'm in company or just 'out and about' I don't even think about it, or even take it with me. It's only when I'm 'home alone' on my recliner watching telly when I'm vaping with my left hand and drinking with my right. I'm sure if I had Kylie in my left hand I could give it up altogether. Vaping has done its job, better than I could have imagined.
