When rewicking, wet the wicks with some e-juice after coiling..That'll make it smaller and will fray less when pushing it down the slot..
Put the inner insulator in and keep it at the top..Drop the wick and coil and push the whole arrangement down a touch with your thumb..Still keeping the thumb on top hold it in your hand and use a jewellers screwdriver and push the neggie coil leg through the slot and bend it so that it stays inside..
Then hold the wicks either side and lower it down to place..I've done about 50-60 rewicks so far..

Thanks alot.

As long as it vapes OK. You'll get neater I expect. It is pretty fiddly, but well worth it.
With a body that doesn't crack (I think I finally have at least one) you can make one stardust last indefinitely, and choose how to wick it, and choose roughly the resistance you want. It's all good.

My coloured ones definately are less prone to cracking. The clear ones once cracked and repaired are pretty stable, I guess the tubes are not so tight as the cracks have relieved the pressure!

I keep looking at mine, but no cracks yet.

Macca, your advice was spot on and I managed to do it first time without losing any wick Cheers dude!

Sorry to keep banging on about this, but I still can't seem to sort these out properly.
My latest rewick looks great, all the wick still there, hanging down nicely, the coil is nice and tight round the wick, the coils are close together which is the way I thought it was supposed to be.
But, it's not wicking fast enough, if I have a drag every couple of minutes it's fine, but any more than that and I just get burnt.
I took it all apart again, in case I had squeezed the wicks where they went through the metal slots, gently prised up the wicks and checked they were free from any obstruction, gently replaced the cap, then gently screwed on the mouthpiece. But it doesn't make any difference.
I'm stumped.
edit, sorry not 2 minutes, alot longer than that, I'm timing it now, just tried it as 5 minutes and still burnt.

What resistance does it measure at and what voltage are you vaping at.
Burnt is different from dry..
Also do a quick check to ensure the wick is not being constricted by the coil by being too tight...

3 ohms it measured.
How do I check the wick isn't being constricted by the coil? .......... I never thought of this, could be that. I thought tighter was better?
So.... how is burnt different to dry?

Burnt hit is when the coil gets too hot due to high current (low resistance or high voltage or a combination) for the juice you are using and it caramelises the sugar in the juice giving you a burnt taste..
Dry hit is when it is not wicking properly and leaves you with a dry scratchy feeling at the back of the throat..
Swish the ejuice around to ensure both ends of the wick are well fed with juice..Then when you fire it are you getting any vapour? If not most likely the coil is wound too tight..Are you using a small pin to support the wick whilst winding?
Also what voltage are you trying to vape at for a 3 ohm coil?

Thanks for the info.
There is plenty of juice getting to both sides of the wick, I am using a needle when I am winding the wick, running at 3.7v.
I'm trying it at a lower voltage now, to see if it will help.
I did try to get this one as tight as possible on the wick, as I thought my previous ones were too loose.

Put the voltage right down to 3v and it's much better, getting flavour now.
So it looks like I wound the wick too tight then I would guess?

Possibly mate..I can't tell without looking..
T'is a strange if your coil is reading 3 ohm and you are only getting a good experience at 3 volts..If you are happy with the flavour. TH and vape then that's you sweet spot for the combo I guess..Everyone is different..
Try with a slightly thicker needle next time and see if that gives you a sweet spot at higher voltage..
I normally vape on a 2.1-2.2 ohm coil at 3.9 to 4 volt under load as my VV battery passthrough is unregulated and that's what I get under load off a freshly charged battery and it hits the spot for me.

I have a slight admission :-[ I didn't check my meters accuracy, it seems my rewicked visions are more like 2 ohms, whoops.
I haven't sorted out the one I was talking about, but I had a stab at doing the other one I rewicked.
I took it apart again and after reading some people are having troubles with the new V2 visions with wicking and they are cutting the wicks. I did the same, cut them down so they are only marginally longer than the original ones, they just go down the tube a little way and I made sure all the wicking material was well spread out, not all together.
And it's perfect, good flavour, no burnt tastes or problems with chain vaping and this was the one I thought I hadn't made a good job of. I'll have a go at the other one at some point and hope it does the same.

Yeah I sorta figured that about the resistance from your post on the multimeter thread that you had not touched your probes together and corrected for meter inaccuracy..
