Stich, where were you when this happened? I am an ex-Pembrokeshire boy myself, and if there was ever a place that encouraged small minded people to go to it was there lol.

BD small mindedness is not just a pembrokeshire thing its an everywhere thing! swindon springs to mind, and its big enuff that it has no excuse, just a very aggressive and successful inbreeding program

It is all about increasing awareness. That is why organisations such as ECCA and CAM-VIP have been set up - to Educate people about the alternative to smoking. Unfortunately, both of the organisations are run by people who are just enthusiastic volunteers without any money to make a major impact atm. Vendor cards or even our membership card are a 'must carry' when venturing out into the ill informed world - at least they show that it is a legal activity and many also show that vaping is not covered by the smoking ban as well. Here at CAM-VIP, we are getting 6 of the best UK vendors involved in 'spreading the word' to our pubs and getting their products into our pubs. These vendors have the passion (and the products/money) to hopefully make a significant difference in the next 12 months. We will be making a number of announcements later this month, but you can see by my signature that we have some great people on board Russell

This was in eddies night club in haverfordwest , me and a friend were both using standard ego/echo battery's and stardusts I must admit tho the stardusts have always reminded me of a syringe or something dodgy from day one so that's probably had somthing to do with it

I too have been asked if I'm doing drugs while vaping around a car boot sale, which I might add is outside.

Actually I have been wondering about the best way to approach the subjects at venues. I don't go out to pubs very often probably only 2-3 times a year but I have a wedding next month where I will be at a large country house/ park all day.
I'm wondering if e-mailing them before hand would be a good idea with perhaps a link explaining e-cigs? I'd rather not be stood outside the majority of the day & night but would be embarrassed if I was confronted about it by staff.

It is better to try and speak to the venue over the phone as it is easier to explain thinks and allay fears in a 2 way conversation. If you need any back-up, you can always refer them to the CAM-VIP leaflet found on our site in 'spread the word'.

Staff, I am actually from H'west (the old man still lives there) and know what people are like down there. It is a small town with not a lot around it, where everyone knows everyone elses business. New things are like voodoo to a lot of people, so if it aint the norm then it is wrong. But I agree that it is not the only place where small minds exist, it is a world wide thing.
Stitch, I remember that place being a market hall, with a tin roof. I would say next time your going to go in there, have a joke with the bouncers, saying something like, your not going to try to throw me out for vaping again are you (with a smile and showing them) it should put it in their mind that you are fine and word will get about so you are left in peace.
njk2125, I would call them as writen words on an email can be taken in so many different ways. A friendly happy tone can make people more acceptable to ideas and suggestions that just reading the same thing.

By the evening do it was very hot and noisy inside so I welcomed the break! Once it got later on I just blatently vaped at the table, not on a cig-a-like tho, although the best man was doing that, lol! I did have some vendor cards on me explaining everything if asked, but I wasn't asked
