Yes the gas works were Remedial after the main work, all gas pipes shall be enclosed in a fireproof enclosure and fire stopped etc, they had not got round to doing that yet, it may have played a part, the main fire appeared to be running up the outside of the building? no pics of the inside to tell what that was like, I would assume the pipes were of a steel construction not copper and can stand a bit of heat, but yes the Gas should not be turned on till the work is finished, was it ????

BrenD I think Theresa May might be the security risk, I cannot describe the feelings I have about this tragedy all I will say is God bless. I don't usually get involved with stuff like this and not that I would ever vote tory my god, excuse my language that ( unt of a woman not talking to anyone is a disgrace and the fact that they voted against minimal changes to housing regulations is just criminal.

Im starting to think that being a PM is a thankless task. No matter who is doing it, from whatever party...they always get slated.

Yeah i'm sure the hostile justified or not nature of people on the scene had nothing to do with the decision to not talk to them and i'm equally sure if she had the largely left leaning press wouldn't have just slated it as nothing but a photo opportunity and asked why she wasn't doing something productive to find out what happened instead.

Those that put themselves on a pedestal, should be prepared to have stones thrown at them. Agree...but what if noone wanted to try and be a pm?? There was a time when politicians followed on as a part of the great scheme of things as a natural progression of their everyday jobs. IE Union Leaders and Business Men joined their appropriate political groups to further the general interests of that said party.
These days our politicians start off a lot younger, IE straight out of school and their political careers start with First Year at University.
I'm afraid your bum on any parliamentary seat matters more to a politician then which side of the house you are sitting of. Ofcourse, the higher up the pecking order you are, matters even more.
