Hi all - more stuff to ruin the bank balance. This is a useful video on the new squonkers just due for release.



Just to save you time - the bargain at Ecigone mentioned is sold out 

I am fancying the Pulse myself  - obviously because I just don't have enough squonkers... 

Be interested to hear if anyone else is thinking of getting any of these.

I watched that video yesterday. There is something that bothers me greatly about some of these squonk boxes coming out at the moment. I need to see more detailed reviews before parting with my cash.

Id be quite tempted by the pulse if it was 18650 only.

This is what seems to happen in pre-sale items, striker42, that's how I got caught by the awful Icarus, no photos of the internals or anything, so I will probably hold fire, too.

The first problem I spotted on the Icarus was probably the easiest to cure, the detachable back panel. WTF, call me old fashioned, grumpy, fussy or whatever, why do we need a removable rear door on a mech squonker ? Do they think we need to remove both panels, hold it up and view the the world through the Icarus window ? That panel is needed so as to enable you to apply pressure to the bottle to squonk, what use is it when you go to squonk and the panel you need to help you apply the pressure drops off ? From the pictures available this MIGHT be the case with the Pulse. Until I know for sure, I'm out.

Must admit, striker42 , this was my only reservation about the Pulse, I think the reason for it is it makes it easy to get the battery out with the bottle still in place. If it's got a really soft bottle it may not be a problem, have to wait and see....

I got the replacement firing pin assembly - this made it almost impossible to get the battery in - then I was too bloody annoyed with it to even look at it!

I may have another bash at some point, but my preferred solution at the moment is a hammer, so best left alone for the moment...

Ohhhhhhh yes ! The hammer is a well-known cure for a lot of troublesome gear. I had a Boxer clone lying in the box for a couple of months. My first attempt at modding it ended in disaster. So yesterday I took a couple of deep breaths, opened the box and had another go at it. This time successfully and it is now working perfectly.
