..surely must ideally be vapers themselves,,or if not, at least those who have a VERY good knowledge of what it is they're actually selling. Having just picked up on the threads regarding fake chargers, I am utterly speechless that this could have happened.

Knowledge doesn't really equate to trustworthy though. In fact knowledge can allow a dishonest individual to be more successful at ripping their target off. An art forger for example will be very knowledgeable about the subject they are forging, they will study the style of the artist, they will study the technique of the artist, they will study the materials that artist used. Their knowledge of the subject is very high but it doesn't make them an honest and trustworthy character.

I'm still trying to bite my tongue... Try to focus on the reaction from the community rather than the actions of one person who cares only for the money he can take said community for. A lot of positives can be taken from this

Having just picked up on the threads regarding fake chargers, I am utterly speechless that this could have happened. Although this type of situation isn't exclusive to our vaping world beeper . . . . vigilance is required in so many areas. Look at it on balance - successful, problem free transactions far outweigh the occasional sour one. ( Although I accept that for those ' caught ' it isn't a huge consolation. ) But let's not be too gloomy or despondent.

I can see your chain of thought beeper, but find myself agreeing with Get Off My Cloud. Because an individual has knowledge does not mean they are honest and their actions well founded. As BrenD has said there are positives to be taken from the charger incident. The major one for me is that vapers look out for vapers. Thanks to an alert vaper and a waste of oxygen running a "business" this fake charger saga was brought to a head before property, life or limb was lost. Alas, some people will stoop lower than a snakes belly for an extra pound.

ok im gona get shot for this but there are more rip off merchants in the vaping world than anywhere else why do i say this ,simples,a smoker go in to a shop and says he wants an ecig to stop smokeing he is told that something like a smoke alien kit is what he needs with a baby beast tank its nothing like smoking and uses smeg loads of juice ,which the shop wants to sell him at an extortionate price
a good shop will try and sell them a cheap pen with a mtl tank like the old protank were 10 ml of juice will last a week
im not going to start on clones or over priced kit because i could be here all day lol
im sorry but to me good business sense is looking after your customers not trying to get as much out of them as poss and the ecig business seems to be full of peps trying to get rich quick
oh and to add i would be very surprised if the chargers were not known to be fake before being sold or shall we say they were purchased at a price that was to good to be true but no questions asked

Well, if any one of the vapers on this forum decided to set up shop (and indeed some have) i'd naturally expect them to NOT sell fakes as they will know very well the risks involved.
I'd hope they would put themselves in the customer's shoes with regards to safety and yes, the good sellers do outnumber the bad ones generally speaking.
It was just that I was thinking to myself,, no way can this seller be a vaper??

Toby at ivapour is one of the 'original' UK Vape sellers and i would happily recommend - and a nice guy too. Lisa at what used to be Cloud 9 vaping - but has 're-branded' her site - don't know what to? Neither are the cheapest - but both solid on the Authenticity and Customer Service side of things

I've only been into 6 vaping shops. In two of them the sales assistants didn't know anything much about vaping, in another they tried to sell me innapropriate items when they didn't have what I asked for and in another the sales assistants (who were sitting reading in an empty shop) only gave monosyllabic answers to questions about the products. In the remaining two the sales assistants were great - real Vapers, up for a chat, knowledgable and enthusiastic. I mostly buy hardware from China, and DIY liquid supplies from online vendors in the U.K., come to think of it, I've not yet come across a bad UK flavour vendor, they have all seemed pretty efficient and helpful when I've needed to contact them. Seems people have a lot more problems with UK hardware vendors, or maybe I've just been lucky with flavour vendors....

I think certainly from a customer service/facing side of things, you need people who vape so they can actually give good service, if they don't know about the products they sell or how to do simple troubleshooting, then this would really pull down the customer experience and general impression in my opinion.

The vapeshop we had here in Liskeard about 2 years ago was run by a young lad who didn't vape. The only time I went in he was in the office out back having a ciggie..... shop didn't last long
