Holy shit! Thats an absolute bargain. Just goes to show what an utter rip off high end squonkers are. But maybe you wont look so cool on face ache or in the hipster cornflake bar. The site linked below is good for the other parts you will need like the 510 conections, bottles etc. ModmakerHe even sells the strips of copper pre drilled now. FORGOT TO ADD: theres a video by todd reviews building 1 on the youtube if you can find it out.

Probably the hardest thing about building a squonker (or any box mod) is a suitable enclosure. ... After helping to make two mods ( linky) I'd agree, especially for those who do not have access to or the knowledge how to use specialised machinery and tools. For me though (having a shed with tools) the biggest issue was dealing with the board and electrical wiring. Going the way of unregulated mechanical mods goes a long way towards sidestepping those particular issues. This looks a great way to go at reasonable price for anyone so interested. I noted in the video review Todd saying " It's got a bit of me in it - and that makes it worth every single penny" - a feeling I have when I vape with my very own Pallet Pine Woodie. Holy shit! Thats an absolute bargain. Just goes to show what an utter rip off high end squonkers are. But maybe you wont look so cool on face ache or in the hipster cornflake bar. Don't hold back .... say what you really mean! ** I gotta agree with ya though!

I've looked at various tools and machinery DaveJ, but for me they would be nothing more than expensive toys. Likewise, I've looked long and hard at 3D printers but again the price and lack of knowledge plus not being the most patient person god put on earth, was enough to put me off that idea. If it didn't work after five minutes, then there would be a good chance it would have a hammer handle protruding from it. Having watched Todd's video, I'm under no illusion that the Sledz enclosures are perfect, but for the price, they were worth a punt. From what I can gather, it looks like these enclosures are a fairly new venture (although I could be wrong) and quite possibly the quality could be a bit better further down the line. Hopefully I'll be able to post up a couple of pics of the squonkers when they're finished, either that or a picture of some broken 3D plastic. We'll find out soon ish.

I totally agree. ... Hopefully I'll be able to post up a couple of pics of the squonkers when they're finished, either that or a picture of some broken 3D plastic. We'll find out soon ish. I look forward to seeing them - whichever way it goes. My fingers are crossed for a successfully completed mod though!

Boxes have arrived. The 18650 box should be fine with a little light sanding here and there. 20700 box is unusable as the battery doesn't fit and the door will not sit in place properly. I contacted Ax Smith at Sledz-uk.co.uk by email and attached a few pictutes highlighting the issue regarding the 20700 box. Within an hour, I had a reply offering an apology and he acknowledged there had been an error with the print. No toys out the pram or any carry on, two emails and the situation sorted, a replacement box is being sent out. I can live with that.

Good luck thebishman . As I move along with this thread, I'll post any information that could be useful. Firstly, for the positive contact, I wouldn't recommend any thicker than 0.5mm copper/brass or whetever conductive material is chosen, as that is about the maximum thickness the slot will allow. I've got 0.9mm and although I can force it in the small slot, in the long term it will probably cause damage. Now waiting on 0.5mm copper and brass strips before proceeding.
