Evening all Does anyone have any experience of adding WS-23 to their juices, please? Any ideas of % for cold and super cold would be appreciated. Also, after a google search, I've seen a few people seem to suggest mixing Koolada WS-5 and WS-23 together - has anyone tried this? TIA

WS5 is meant to be colder than WS23 and I would avoid Koolada with those 2 as it can be harsh on it's own lord knows what it would be like added to those in a mix. I also suggest when using Koolada to start low as I made the mistake of using to much and nearly ripped my throat off, and it took me forever to fiddle around with VG/PG and Nic to bring it down to a usable liquid. ghostrider1971

Perpetua - The Chef's reviews are interesting One guy says 1% is blow your head off bone chilling - the guy below says I mixed at 7.5% and it's an "ADV"

joeten - Apologies - this is probably a very silly question Is Koolada just the brand name? Then it's WS-5, WS-23 etc? The reason I ask is that Drip Hacks have "Koolada W-23" - I thought they were separate things?

Koolada standard can be a bit harsh and it always leaves a nasty aftertaste when I've used it but I'm fine with the other ws23 and ws5 mixes.

Koolada as far as I know is not WS23 it may be derived from a similar source but it does not add any flavouring where as Koolada has a distinct taste. From what I have read Koolada is around 150% stronger than menthol and WS23 75%, I have not done any digging to verify it but did note a mention of Koolada as WS3, it is available as a powder or crystal which then needs diluting in pg some do it at 20% others suit them self.

For me, mixing flavours at 25%-30% is quite ' normal ' for a tasty vape - to others 10% and under of the same would possibly be acceptable for their tastes. None of this stuff is written in stone, so the only sure way you find out what suits you, is to experiment.

This is what one of the manufacturers writes about each of the cooling agents now available:
WS-3 [TPA Koolada] is a menthol derivative. But unlike menthol, WS-3 is virtually nonvolatile, odorless and tasteless. WS-3 is one of the most used cooling agents in the market and it’s known for its clean immediate cooling impact and has been found to cool primarily at the roof of the mouth, the back of the mouth and the back of the tongue.
WS-23 is not derived from menthol. But like WS-3, it exhibits little or no odor or taste and has a low volatility. Sensory evaluations of WS-23 indicate that the product cools more in the front of the tongue and mouth. While the product has somewhat less cooling impact than that of WS-3, the cooling profile is more round and smooth in character.
WS-5 has been found to have approximately two and one-half times the cooling intensity of WS-3, it is one of the strongest commercially available coolants, yet exhibits a smooth and round flavor profile. WS-5 has been found to cool primarily at the roof of the mouth and the back of the tongue.

The bit about Koolada having no taste is not really accurate it does have a hard to describe taste.

A very small amount around 1-1.5%. WS-23 is by far my favourite coolant, koolada to me has a harsh taste.

I have taken to using TFA Koolada diluted with PG by half at .25% - gives a realistic iced drink effect without any off aftertaste - but does depend a bit on what else is in the mix - keep meaning to experiment with other coolants but have not yet got around to it.
