FireStick no longer supporting youtube from Jan 18

A message came up on my firestick stating that from 1st Jan 2018 youtube will no longer be available on this device:

You could side load something like Kodi no limits build on it and get more than just YouTube.

Yeah I have Kodi and Pulse CCM on my firesticks. So not that much of an issue for me. The firestick youtube app was pretty good though and there will be a lot of hacked off people who don't use Kodi, maybe some with gifts for xmas. I wonder what Amazon's return policy is like, as if this happens there will be tons of firesticks heading back.

Probably a combination of things most likely so as not to take folks away from there own services.

New Firefox app is now up and running. Looks like it was released to combat this and it's working spot on so far. YouTube runs faultlessly on it.

Google and Amazon have come to a mutually beneficial agreement so YouTube will still be available to Firestick users.

First you need to sideload Kodi then the relevant repositories.  Google is your friend here, it's not too hard and there's loads of guides about it.

It's also worth looking at Mobdro, again Google will explain all.

It doesn't do as much as Kodi, but it is easier to use.
