Mixing additives

Hi all long time nospeaky been super busy with london taxi knowledge but occasionally get the chance to do a bit of Mixing?
also getting into menthol vapes and unsure of what percent to use?
ive got extreme ice, Koolada, ws5 and a couple of others but it’s a bit hit and miss?
so any help very gratefully received 👍😀

I've popped your thread onto our Mixology Board bobby00, incase you think it's been whooshed away . . . . not a fan massive of menthol/cool vapes myself, so my own experience is limited. If I do make a menthol type mix for anyone, then I tend to combine it with some spearmint and/or peppermint for some sweetness and depth.

ghostrider1971 loves his ' chilly ' vapes, so is one mixer who can advise you . . . . start low on percentages and work up to what suits your own tastes would be my advice, whilst remembering that too much of some of these additives have the tendency to mute other flavours in a recipe.

bobby00 I like WS23 as it has no aftertaste like Koolada and I simply use 5/10 drops of it into a 10ml bottle dependant on how cold I want the vape, been a revelation for me as I could never get the right percentage of Koolada in a mix

I did buy some on my last order, to have in as I think I'm coming round to a touch of coolness in mixes, having tried VV Iced Frappe - that's very pleasant with just a hint of, in the mix.

I had been trying to behave myself and not put a Chefs order in until I actually needed some other things. Sunday morning boredom and having a few hundred ml of juice the WS-23 might save got the better of me. Fail

Two of the profit shots (500ml of juice a pop when mixed) and two one shots, er, fell into my basket.

I wouldn't be feeling as annoyed with myself had the 200ml or so of Kilo I ordered a few days ago not slipped my mind until seconds after checking out.

That has to be it for juice/concentrates until VF!

I certainly do love a cold vape but can't, in practical terms, add anything sadly

I've messed around with WS-23 between 0.25 and 1ml in a 100ml mix - it hasn't been cold and it has always just muted the flavour of any mix I've added it to - bit of a disaster really....

Not sure if I got a dodgy bottle of WS-23.....

I use ws23 30% usually between 0.2-0.5 %. I find it gets overpowering for me after that. ghostrider1971 ws3 does come in different percentages so maybe either you got a stronger one or like you said, a dodgy bottle with too much in. If I were you I'd work on drops instead of a percentage if it is that strong 😊

I use Koolada in a lot of mixes, bobby00, I dilute mine with PG by half then use it at around .25%. Have experimented a little with WS23 - does not seem to cool things that much, I have not yet tried FA Polar Blast.

Nice mix that I like bobby00 is DV mentholyptus at 7% mixed with WS-23 at 1%.

I have mixed in the WS-23 at 0.5%, 1.0%, 1.5% and 2.0% with the Mentholyptus and at 1.5% was too cold for me so didn’t even try the 2.0% sample.
I assume that’s because I’m mixing with a mentholyptus which itself has some coolness of its own to start, but with other flavours you could need the higher percentages.

This latest bottle of WS-23 is suspended in PG at 30%, others I have had in the past have only been at 10% so this needs taking in to account which strength you are working with.

As TJ said above 5 drops per 10ml of juice (approximately 1%) up to 10 drops (approximately 2%) or anywhere in between to suit your own taste and WS-23 doesn’t have any aftertaste that the Pure Koolada seems to have.

I really liked polar blast but it's pricey. WS23 30% seems to work for me and no more that 0.75% in a mix for my tastes. For all I know polar blast might just be WS23
