Has always worked fine, then suddenly, it would not turn on. Took the battery out and replaced, the mod came on immediately but the display just cycled from 1watt up to 70watt, then stayed there. Would not fire, would not adjust wattage, would not turn off with 6 clicks. I tried it without a tank installed - it turns on and off fine and the wattage adjustment works again, but stops working the moment I put a tank in, when it goes back to the above. I cleaned all contacts and threads - no change. I had recently installed a Vapeshell - thought this might be the cause of the problem so swapped it for the Exocet I had installed previously - same problem. Have tried going into the menu - (press fire and the button nearest the tank), it takes me to screens to control puff numbers and taste control but, with no tank in, will not take me to temp control. Have also tried locking the wattage (Press up and down button) - this seems to lock the wattage but it still does not fire and wont turn on or off unless I take the battery out and put it back in, in which case the same thing happens. I don't have any instructions for it and can't find any on the web. I believe its an Asmodus gx70 chip. I'm out of things to try! Any suggestions, folks?

Thanks shiny, very much appreciated - I will have a good look when I have the mod to hand, there may be a clue in there, sometimes these problems are from accidental button pushing!

Yes beedee have a read (pages are a bit out of order) and if you are still having issues I have another avenue for you to explore although that’s a bit more painful. I’ve bookmarked your thread, so just yell out on here.....if nothing else you’re feel better for it

Just to update, shiny, I messed around a little using the instructions, no luck, left it awhile and it suddenly went back to normal... I wonder if some juice got into the board and has now dried out a little. Have read on the web that in the 70watt version the board is not coated, and there is an awful lot of condensation in BBs.... that it stays OK. If I buy another I will get the one with the DNA board - in this case the extra expense may be worth it. Thanks again for the instructions.

beedee if you haven’t already, get yourself a 3D printed condensation plug that fits into the bottom of the tank as this will keep all the muck from getting into the electronics through the buttons and screen below. Next time it happens put it into a bag with covers and tank off, cover it with rice, tie the end up and place in the airing cupboard for a few days. The rice will absorb all the moisture from the BB. Glad to hear it’s now working for you.

I'm noticing that beedee . . . . after about 20ml has been through my SSOCC coils, I'm finding taking the front cover helps, which isn't ideal. And dare I say, a little leakage which I think may be down to the bottom o ring on the Boro tank, having googled for similar issues.

Do you know of anywhere that sells the plug? Had a look around the web, there's a 3d printer template for one here, and a shop in South Africa sells them but does not do international delivery, also looked into getting it made by a 3d printing firm but that is high quantity and expensive.

Just to finish the story, unfortunately it all went downhill again and I was back to square 1 - tried your solution shiny, and seemed to work, then died again, so I bought another - this time with the DNA chip which is coated so should be a little more resistant to juice problems. I decided to have a go at looking inside the thing - went in from the back but one of the allen key screws was impossible to get out and I ruined the head in trying. Then I successfully got the cover of the screen off, and found it was absolutely soaked with juice where the buttons make contact, literally swimming in it, in spite of all the drying I'd done. I dried this up manually, gave it the airing cupboard treatment again, and reassembled it. Was a PITA job as it has a thin rubber membrane that keeps the buttons in, and you have to assemble it with this facing downward, so the membrane and buttons kept falling off - but I finally got it back on. Working fine now but will only adjust wattage upwards (you can scroll upward to get back to 0), however, I reckon this could be because my reassembly was not that that great. But fingers crossed, it seems to be a fix, so, if someone else has the same problem, this is something to try. The members here who I can remember having a BB are Perpetua, Pepperty and decoy, I'm sure there are others. Still, me happy because now have two functioning BBs, one set up with the Insider, the other with the Vapeshell. Also took a link from Pepperty and got some nice swirly replacement doors for one of them!

Glad you have it up and running, apparently some cleaning between the up and down buttons can help if its juicy they might be a bit stuck? I went to take back plate off myself to check interior and it seemed stuck fast so I got a hold of window edge and the plate flew off, taking screen and its attached ribbon with it! After testing the screen I was shocked but happy it still worked but then I had to set it up with ribbon going through from back to the front and into the clip on dna chip over an hour it took me, using toothpick and ceramic tweezers and about 30+ attempts but I finally got there was so SO difficult as the chip is almost flush to box and there's a lip, and ribbon had to slot under about 2mm from edge, I did it in the end but was almost crying with frustration! I wont be touching my other billet boxes......
