There certainly seems to be a revival of interest in this ' classic ' form of vaping going by shiny's poll and a few more specific RTA's appearing on the market. For me it's never really gone out of fashion, as much as I enjoy subohming - I don't exclusively as a tighter draw also works for me and less cloudage is more appropriate in my work environment.
Although my MTL style has moved on a bit, a tight draw isn't quite right for me now, the Doggy's as simple as they are to use are too tight. I like a tank that has good airflow options and usually change from a standard 510 drip tip to one with a wider bore, which then suits my ' chugging ' MTL vaping.
Chugging I reckon is about half way between MTL and DTL . . . . CTL perhaps!

Chugging thread! 😊 I do think it's gone full bore wide and people like myself are being a little more sensible.I could never go back to MTL but a single coil with a slightly restricted pull I likey. Also the vendors are shaping the ways as well. They keep thinking of ways to keep people buying and now they're on a MTL pitch. This is good imo though because at least the die hard tight suckers get some more options 😊

I think that initially people giving up smoking and switching to vaping thought that it was the same and tried to replicate both the tight draw and tobacco flavour with their juice. As time has gone on new vapers have realised that it's completely different to smoking and hence not worried about those factors. I know lots of vendors and MTL makes up a very small proportion of their sales so i would have to say no, MTL is not making a comeback. Of course there will always be people that prefer it but as you can see, the MTL community is becoming a niche area with a limited amount of hardware.

I'm still MTL - for me, the draw, exhale & even a tobacco type flavour are what have kept me from going back to cigarettes.

A more sensible way to vape IMO, but I think the genie is out of the jar for me and it is all 40+ watts, though still got plenty of MTL tanks that are more then good enough to keep the stinkies away.

I do prefer to MTL if I am honest. I have tried plenty of subohm tanks in my time vaping and tbh I just don't see the point of it.
Subohming for me just uses far too much juice and battery life. Sure its cool to chuck out incredible amounts of vapor but I really don't see the point of it. You are constantly having to fill the tank (even more so now with the tpd 2ml capacity limit) and have to carry loads of batteries and juice with you to get through the day.
Although I do prefer MTL tanks I don't like a super tight draw. Somewhere between a MTL and restricted DTL seems to be my sweet spot.
I have been liking using the Dvarw MTL RTA as it has interchangeable airflow adapters and 5ml capacity. The Doggy SK16 tanks have been nice but are not the best for filling I have found. Digiflavor Siren 2 has been good. Innokin Ares leaks too much from the top cap for me to use all the time which is a shame as I like the flavor and filling method. Sense Herakles Pro tank has served me well the last year and a bit using the 1.8ohm coils at 20w. It is still my go to tank if I am honest.

MTL never went anywhere for me.
Lighthearted: I still MTL I still use FTA TV I still use regular audio CDs I'm too old for all that new fangled stuff.. *grin*
Serious: I settled on a style of MTL atty years ago that works for me. I only really look at other newer atties to see if I can obtain new acceptable substitutes for my old favourite atties that are no longer available new.
I just like the draw and vape from a kayfun lite style atty.
I think it's a really good thing more options are now available for vapers who like the MTL style of vaping.

I like both, depends on the time of day and the circumstance. Out and about I like to have a simple MTL set up. At home, relaxing I prefer the Sub-ohm set up. As said a few times now that first thing in the morning I still use 2 EGO-C twists with mini protank 1s and a baccy liquid. There is no way I could sub-ohm in the mornings. At work I have a sub ohm and an MTL set up for a bit of variety. Looking around at others at work who vape, I'd say it's about 50/50 sub ohm to MTL and it's been like that for a while. People seem to stick with what they like.

I was on DTL for a couple of years but with the pressure my brothers were trying to put me under earlier this year following my mother's funeral I was close to going back to smoking instead I went for the iQOS HNB which worked for me, I'm now moving back to vaping but DTL doesn't work for me anymore but MTL does so I'm using the Protank 4 with 1.5 ohm heads at 15 watts and getting an excellent vape.

Dunno about making a comeback judging by all the cloud chuckers i see walking around, but I've always preferred MTL. I tried a few new fangled dtl atomisers and drippers and apart from a Serpent SMM i have on my desk at home, the rest are all binned, sold off or in a box somewhere. Kayfun lites used to be my fave, then I tried a Beserker which I've been using for what seems like ages and now it's between the Beserker and the SXK Vapeshell for the BB

Im a hybrid (though Mrs S would have another name for me) I start off MTL then half way through a long chug I'll switch to DTL but I'm just weird I suppose, as for sub ohming...naaah give me 2.0 ohms at 9.0 watts, works for me.

CTL, I've named it, which works well for me. Individual I call it smarties , isn't that the beauty of vaping that we can tailor it to suit our own personal styles.

You're absolutely right Perpetua I know quite a few long term vapers and they have all tailored their individual styles which as you say is part of the beauty of vaping

Sure its cool to chuck out incredible amounts of vapor It's really not stu. It just annoys people if done in public.
