Kaidomain are in China - I've used them many times - they are a bit slow (2 weeks ish) but they have never let me down.

I'm now using KD's yellow 1000mah spiderfires (which are fully protected) in my Mk1. I've found them excellent but someone had problems with them fitting the Mk1...

That wuz me, Prof Of the one pair I've opened, one can be used bum-first and it lasts very well But the other, even though I bravely squeeze it in bum-first, doesn't work at all - I put in back to charge "just in case", it went green in a few minutes and still wouldn't work in my SD1 (I'm crying cos you didn't remember me... nah, just testing a new smiley ) It's pretty difficult to get the batteries out, I wouldn't be able to do it without my trusty non-slip stuff or, failing that, a pair of pliers. scylla

That's really weird Scylla - all four of the ones I got pop in and out fine with all four of my Mk1s. Makes me a bit concerned - I love them, because they really last, but it sounds like there are quality control issues possibly...

Yes, because I tried it with my spare SD front end and got the same result. So it's the batteries, not the SD. I don't want to unwrap the other 4 batteries before I intend to use them, I've already got umpteen mauve ones rolliing about in a box scylla

Chrissie, sweetie, in the SD MK11 Users manual this is exactly what it says about charging the battery..... Place the charger in a suitable power outlet WITHOUT the battery inserted. Yhe light on the charger should light GREEN indicating it is ready for a battery to be placed in it. Carefully insert a battery into the charger. What i was doing was putting the battery in to the charger first, then plugging in the charger - the batterries were NOT charging up. Hubbys way - the same way as the manual - they charged up. Oh how I HATE it when a man is right.

Lettie, got to admit I'm surprised at that. Just can't see the rhyme or reason for it.
Can anyone explain why please??

I'm fairly certain that my batts still charge when I insert them and then switch on, but will test it when current SD batt runs down.

generally i pull my plug out every time, then place the battery in the charger then plug it in, laid flat in an extension lead. if theres a batt already in and finished charging i do just take out the battery and pop in another. not had any problems that i know of either way. ive been using the SD mk1 nano charger for the past couple of weeks on my mk2 batts, it takes miles longer as we know and i dont really see any difference other than i keep thinking they dont last as long, but i am using eastmall LRs so that will make a difference too batt life, as we know. raggy..........
